Okay, in this crappy economy, a thread like this is long overdue.

Anyone who has ACTUAL experience working online and making money, please post your experience working online, how much money you made (estimated) over a certain period of time, and the steps you took to get there.

If you know of places to find work online, be it typing or writing, programming or art, SEO work or anything else, if it is online, then please post the name of the website, what kind of work can be found there, and whether it is a good place for others to find online work.

I am posting this thread because I am looking for help in finding online work as well, and have yet to find anything good. But the amount of places I've tried is very small (only Elance). Even though I have a huge list. I will post the websites I know about below. If you have legitimately made money working there, post about it and I'll update the status of the website to "Confirmed". Which means we know people who have made money using that site. Post estimates of how much you made in a certain amount of time, and I'll fill that information in so people can compare and contrast and judge for themselves which websites to checkout or focus on.

I've never maintained a thread before so I'm in uncharted territory, but I'll do my best to update the list and maintain it. Thanks in advance for anyone who can help the list!

WEBSITES TO FIND ONLINE WORK

Elance.com - UNCONFIRMED

TIPS

Call Center Jobs - "There are usually a few work from home call center jobs in my area. Not sure about other places, but they are always posted on the Government job bank website. I would be surprised if other countries didn't have an equivalent place. http://www.jobbank.gc.ca The way they work around here is you usually go to a place for training for 1-2 months then once you pass the proper testing to prove that you know your stuff, and that you can prove you have a quiet place to work at home, then you hook up the equipment and go to work." - thanks to crusader8463

Arise - Arise,is legitimate, and you may even get accepted to be one of those chat customer service people (which I prefer because I hate talking on the phone. - thanks to BraveToaster

*** I can't find the list of sites I had, I think it's on my desktop. As soon as I find the list I'll update it on here, but I'm going to go ahead and post this so people can get started posting their experiences, advice, or websites they know of.

@crusader8463: Very interesting. I have a friend who works from home doing customer service at an ISP. I'll add your comment to the top.

Obama doesn't care about the economy, he wasn't even born there.
