yeah, kinda obvious, but seriously, when I saw this video, the sheer rage it instituted from said video forced me to show you the sheer arogance and stupidity of this news channel. Take a look.

First off, they don't even know what an indie game is? At all?

Second, why is Fox news always getting the more ugly guy on the side they disagree with? Seriously, ever since. Adam Sessler tore a hole through that one woman which called Mass Effect a sex sim game, (later on her book being trashed insanely online to the point no one is even willing to touch it still.), it seems like they have decided not to fuck with us gamers (since we can mess them up pretty badly if we wanted to.) but instead try to make us look like jokes.

Third, is the guy on the right even TALKING about video games? I can't tell sometimes. It just seems like a lunatic ranting to me.  Espicially considering he didn't even listen to the smart nerdy guy who knows what the fuck he is talking about unlike this radio talk show host that seems like he is being paid to be the bad guy (or good guy in fox's  fucked up views.) to rant about this.

When will this dumbass news station finally die? That is my main question.

@Buck_Sexington: That's usually how most of their "debates" go, choose a side to lean on and pick a shitty person to defend the opposing side.

Yeah, ever since Adam Sessler(or was it the guy on gametrailers tv?) DESTROYED one of the pro fox guys they stopped getting the smart people in the industry and look to debate the dumber ones in the gaming industry just to make us look dumb to the populace.

The guy on the right sounds like hes a really shitty comedian. Haha I kept expecting him to say, "And what's the deal with airline food?" or something like that.

Anyways, why are videogames the only form of entertainment being discussed for this issue? Couldn't the same be said about movies and music?

Fox News is fine for getting news. Just like MSNBC and CNN.
But when they discuss politics they're very conservative, sort of like how MSNBC is the most liberal news station in existence.

Is that bald guy sitting on a bouncy ball? He can't stop moving all over the place when he talks. What a clown. At least the guy for gaming was calm a not yelling like a fool.

I'm not sure why you feel that debate was bad.  It was done cordially, everyone acted fair with one another, both sides raised good points and, besides confusing big budget games with indie games, the moderator did a really good job.  I think you may be trying to look to hard to find things to be upset about with this video.  You may not like Fox News but don't pick on them when they didn't do anything wrong.  There was nothing wrong with that segment.

To be honest, I didn't think this was as bad as some of the other shit Fox News has done.

It's funny how the guy against video games was acting hyped and immature while the guy for video games was pretty calm and collected the entire time. But in all honesty I can't really rag on Fox in this situation, for once this time they were not grossly unbalanced. As you saw they did get a video game expert on the show and they did give him plenty of time to plead his case and make his points.

I agree with @FancySoapsMan. However, as soon as that guy on the right opened his mouth, I wanted to slap him.

I don't think the other guy was against video games per se.  He was against the government spending money on the arts when they are in as much debt as they are.  It could have been any type of art (music, sculpture work, paint work, etc) and he would have had a problem with it.  He thinks that money could go elsewhere to create jobs.  The other guy brought up a good point in that the video game industry is a huge avenue for job growth and that spending government money on that industry does stimulate job growth.

I can see both sides personally.

@Buck_Sexington: That is actually a typical Fox tactic. Look at their left wing people and you'll find the same thing.

To be fair, tax grants for Movies and video games is wasteful in the current economic climate, this money would be better used to set up low income jobs for people with little to no educational backgrounds, those are the people who struggle on a day to day basis, people with college degrees can always find work even if its not in the field they want. Money for sports is a different matter while video games and movies might not make money theres a chance they will and asides from benefiting a small number of professionals theres no long term benefit in the local community, a new sports center creates jobs and improves income in the stores in that area by bringing people to them.

This seems to a case of hating Fox News for being Fox News. I saw nothing wrong with the segment and I agree with the bald guy. It's a spending issue, not so much a video game issue.

Sports centers have been proven to be the biggest waste of tax payer money a city can spend.

I'm not American so I could be wrong, but from what I can infer, it seems that Fox News attracts its viewership by trolling. Just by talking about it here, we are promoting Fox News.

@FreakAche: Exactly. Also when I see these new reports I just remind myself that video games will be respected like film and music when all the baby boomers die off.

They cater to a specific audience that wants to hear someone else tell them what they already believe.  You might hear people talk about MSNBC in the same context.  Fox News tells conservatives what they want to hear and MSNBC tells liberals what they want to hear.  It is a bunch of preaching to choirs.

Not to sound like a devil's advocate but...

Isn't hating on Fox News because of who they are just as bad as when Fox News hates on games because of what they are?

I see nothing wrong with that clip.  You should probably find something more worthwhile to be outraged about.
