I heard his name being thrown around by friends, strangers, and even teachers. Unfortunately, it took several months and one Mr. Simmons, before I was persuaded to listen. So for those of you who listen to rap or just like good music, if you haven't listened before, do so now.

It might just be because all I heard growing up was Tupac blasting out of my sisters stereo, but he reminds of him. Alot.

Anyway, his album Str8 Killa is out today. Go pick it up.

so i got around to picking up his EP and felt i needed to bump this. More people need to hear this dude, Gibbs goes hard for sure.
looking forward to more of this guy, i like the production but i feel like it still sounds...i dunno how to explain, not 90s? and i love that 90's east coast sound.

anyways, i would say Personal OG is my go to song, can't get enough.

here's a link to Str8 Killa mixtape, kinda like a companion piece.  also, that has to be the worst part of this, the "str8" instead of straight. but i'm willing to overlook that.

I like good music, and I appreciate good rap.

This is neither.

I've heard a lot of good things about this guy. I've been meaning to get into his music for a while, just can't be arsed.

I definitely don't think it's good music, that's for sure; the production is pretty boring, from the beats to the strings. The second song's horns are all right, but it's really sad that they never go anywhere. As a rapper, he's got really nice speed, but his tone and his lyrics are pretty forgettable. The hooks are pretty bad on the first two songs, though, and the third link no longer works.

Of course, I'm not really a fan of this style of rap; I need it more energetic than what Mr. Gibbs offers on these two tracks. I'm gonna ask a few friends about him, see what they think, find out whether or not he's someone they're aware of. A couple of them might really like him.

What is this?  rapmusic.com?

Nah but I forgot the name of that beat that Freddie spit it on in The Ghetto...  I know that Big L spit on it but I forgot....  His style reminds me of a southern style.  Meh, Im not into his music.

@wmaustin55: I'm gonna hope you're joking based on that "haha." The synth organ on that second song is going to make me set my hair on fire.

Eh. Not bad. Nothing about his style really grabs me. Nothing truly original. Just kind of more of the same really
