Games from 2001-2004 worth playing

I built an old computer out of nostalgia ( geforce 6800 GT, 1 GB Ram, Pentium 4 3Ghz, Win XP Home Edition) to play last some last gen games on it. I know I could play them on my current one, but I am nerdy like that. ( I also have a 20" CRT monitor to experience the games in all the glory of 1280X1024 and 1600x1200).

I just finished building it today and I am now installing some of the old games I still have on discs. I am curios what other games are worth playing besides the ones I have (I will list them below).

Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Gun Metal, Alone in the Dark-The new Nightmare (I liked it); Colin Mcrae 2/3/4; Beyond Good and Evil; Crazy Taxi; Lionheart; Call of Duty, Medal of Honor; NFS Underground 1/2; Rayman 3; Kill Switch; Thief 3; Deus Ex-Invisible War; Stronghold; Doom 3/Half Life2/Far Cry.

I had others, but these are what I have left now, and I don't necesarelly remember all that I had before.

Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic is a great game you should check out

Not sure about the year these came out but some of my favorite pc games were: Arcanum, Vampire: The Masqurade Bloodlines, SW: KOTOR, F-22 Lightning 3, Carmageddon 2(a little older but better than TDR2000), Max Payne, Operation: Flashpoint(the original was awesome!).

I have no idea what came out those years.

Yeah this covers pretty much all of it. I love all of those games.... ugh I miss playing UT 2004 every night.

The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay

Were there ever pc ports of the Metal Gear Solid games and were they any good? If so, those.

The Thing ? I haven't played it but I want to, some day.

Rome: Total War !!! The best pc game ever!

edit: God damn it stuff like this makes me wish Giantbomb would let you make a games collection type thing that I could search through.

I was in the army during that time so I did not extensively play games during that period but I believe Half Life 2 came out then. I was playing a lot of that, Counter Strike, KOTOR, and Star Wars Galaxies if I recall. At the time I was trying to not buy as many games although I ended getting a ton of PS2 games around that time. Didn't have a very decent computer of my own until around end of 2003 or so. UT 2003 was alright, 2004 was basically the same but a little bit improved if I recall. They were both good, 2004 is probably the better one. 
 
That's all I can think of PC wise, at the moment.

@Baillie: Really? I hadn't heard that! When was that said?

I was this [] close to making an excel document because I'm sick in the head and I want to be able to just randomly wonder, "What first person shooters do I own that were released in the years 2006 or 2007?" and then look that shit up. IGN used to have a thing that would let me do that but then they went and fucked it up, presumably because I was the only person who ever used it.

My favorite RTS game was released during this period: Rise of Nations, I highly recommend it but you'll actually need to get the CDs (available on Amazon.com, the GOLD edition includes both the original and the expansion for about $8). I'll also second the recommendations for Arcanum and Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines, these are available on either Steam or GOG.com.

The original Sims + all expansion packs.

I could only really tell you the Nintendo games released during that time period along with a handful of PS2 games. Any other game is a distant, distant memory.

@Alexandru: Thief 3? Really? No. Play Thief: Deadly Shadows (and play it "right": all missions on hard, no one sees you, no knockouts, no killing [well, once it gets weird you can't avoid killing, but those aren't people]) and Thief II: The Metal Age, those are the good ones.

Also The Operative: No One Lives Forever (2000, but it was late in 2000, so...) and No One Lives Forever 2: A Spy in H.A.R.M.S. Way . . . if you can find them.

@OldGuy: or deadly shadows, whatever, its the third one.

@Alexandru: Yeah, I know, but Thief 3: Deadly Shadows is just a shadow of the greatness that is Thief and Thief 2. You should really play them instead.

Warcraft 3 and Frozen Throne, by far my fav strategy games and games in general.

@Baillie: Well, frown. I thought they might've said something during the BLLS that I missed. I suppose at the bare minimum they could just add a check box saying "I own this game" or something and let me use that as a search parameter. That's all I need!

I definitely second Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic...I don't think anyone mentioned Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 yet (or the original, but that was released in 1999...probably only need to get one of those, as long as it is the first or second).
