It's all your call OP.
Personally I think of strippers the same way I think of the usual sluts, so I would skip calling her.
Getting a Stripper's Phone Number
This topic is locked from further discussion.
I like how suddenly since she is a stripper everything apparently changes, she is still a woman guys. Her job doesn't suddenly make everything different, being a stripper doesn't automatically make her vagina have razor sharp teeth.
Also if it's her actual number there is no way she is giving it to you in hopes of money, in that line of profession you have to be very careful of who you give it out to because of rapists and stalkers.
I guess it all depends on what you are looking for and/or what she wants. If you're just looking to hang out and have some fun.... go for it.So last night at a strip club I ended up getting a stripper's number. I wasn't gaming for it or anything, but she said she wanted me to have her number and for us to go for coffee sometime. Now I know there's a good chance that giving me her number was part of the hustle, but I have to know. I haven't texted her yet because Swingers taught me I have to wait at least two days to not look anxious, but I think I've gotta go for it just to see how it would turn out.
So I turn to the Giant Bomb community, who I'm sure are the authority on strippers. Any advice? Anyone date a stripper before, or "date" a stripper before?
I think the thing I always used to think about is "How many guys has she given her number to" or on the flip side, would I be ok with a stripper as a girlfriend. I think I'd get too protective of her if I went to the strip joint. Some guys can handle it, some can't.
All in all, go for it. But don't text, give her a call.

She's probably hooking on the side. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid

because 9.5 times out of 10 the stereotypes are true. There are strippers out there that don't have any really debilitating problems, but they are like finding an orange needle in a stack of yellow needles in a stack of orange haystacks being eating by yellow cows.
A friend told me him and some other of our friends went to some strip club a couple times in San Francisco a while back. One friend started giving this girl his camera and let her have like $1500, etc. He said it was because she was really good looking and giving him the time of day (leading him on). Then he said something about that's kind of their job and that's the only way they know how to make money. Selling their sex appeal and attention for money. He said it was his friend's own fault for starting to believe she cared about him.
Basically they're real life sirens.

Hard to judge people when there are no jobs out there right now, would you just rather she be on welfare?

I'm not saying they should be judged by their occupation Wouldn't you be weary of a used car salesman telling you the car he's trying to sell is in near perfect condition? When talking to a used car salesman, you have to go in knowing he's going to try as hard as he can to sell you a car even if it means lying to your face. If they're good at selling cars off of lies, then you know they'll be applying what their good at doing (getting what they want through any means, morals be damned) to everything they do in life. If your job involves giving fake attention to dudes for money, expect some bleed over into their everyday lives.
@TechnicallyProficient: Believe it or not I'm in a similar situation as you. Except I'm already in a relationship, and we both agreed to be just friends. Nothing more. I have no intentions of dating her, but only getting to know her as a friend. I've had the opportunity to keep in touch with her through texts once in a while. Usually she'll be the one that texts me, but we just have small talk and talk about games that we've been playing.
Yup. She's really into games. Kinda weird, but pretty awesome.

Don't call or text in the morning because she may be cranky.
Ryan Davis has the same policy at night because that when he's stanky.
Hey, I just pulled the trigger and texted her just shy of the 48 hour mark. No response yet, but I'll keep you posted. I was vague on the details in the initial post to gauge the reaction, but I'm seeing some recurring themes. A couple things I'll address.
First, on the shadiness of the strip club. Yes, it is referred to as a "gentlemen's club", and it's not a total hole by any stretch. However, I am in Canada and I have never been to a "no-touch" American club so I have no baseline of comparison, but that rule is most certainly not in place here.
Second, there seem to be a lot of people here with the "her job as a dancer doesn't define her" attitude. Which to some extent I totally agree with, and I think I showed a great deal of respect (which she claimed was a key reason she gave me a number to begin with). Maybe she spends her days reading stories about Jesus to blind orphans, who knows. Stereotypes aside, her job is creating a sexual fantasy for men willing to pay the price, and she gave me a phone number while she was on the clock. It may very easily be that the number was given within her fictitious dancer persona as a hook to keep me on the line and paying. It did seem that she was dropping that ruse and being on the level with me at that moment but, to use wrestling terminology, maybe it was a "worked shoot". For all I know I just sent a text to a local pizza joint.

Do what you want. I couldn't date a stripper though, or any girl who was sexual around other men.
So every girl?

DAYMN
whats the worst that could happen? well you could get horrible diseases, your heart could be broken, she could be crazy and kill you, she could rob you, physically or emotionally cripple you.
either way go for it bro, why not?
yo yo yo
As a long tenured john I will give my 2c.
If a girl gives you her number at the club then most likely your initial instinct is right: "it may very easily be that the number was given within her fictitious dancer persona as a hook to keep me on the line and paying". Other very likely options: she is trying to get you to pay for sex, she is trying to white knight scam you. "Oh, my coked up boyfriend won't pay child support/robbed me; my shitty landlord cut the heat/water/internet; I need $100/$1000/$10000 for food/medical care/tuition."
If a stripper legit wants to date you, she will emphasize 1000 times that she is NOT giving you her number because she wants you to pay for head.
@TechnicallyProficient: The "don't call, text me line" throws me, and the guy who posted above me has some good advice (@NoblesseOblige). Cautionary tale time: A good buddy of mine was going thru a messy divorce some years ago and decided to go w/ strip club therapy. He had a favorite girl whom he "dated" for a brief period, those dates consisting of hotel room visits that he paid for. She already had a boyfriend, and my buddy was just another client, albeit one willing to extend the client-stripper relationship beyond the club. Moral is, watch your ass and your wallet, please.
I am roommates with a girl who strips and friends with another. Both normal girls with normal problems.
That said, why the fuck people go to strip joints to see tatas is beyond me. I never got the appeal of that shit.
