Giant Bomb's favorite animated TV show?
I was wondering if I could get some Giant Bomber's opinion on this: what is everyone's favorite animated TV show? It doesn't have to currently be showing, it just has to have existed at one point. Being one of those damn "born on 1990" kids, I can never appreciate the cheeze of Transformers or M.A.S.K. Therefore, I gotta give it to Clone HIgh, with The Simpsons in second. (Instert "The Simpsons sucks now" comment here). POST AWAY!
You can't go wrong with South Park.
If you want to go nostalgic, I can still watch episodes of The Rugrats.
I'm not sure how wide your scope of animated TV show is, but I will go out and say I'll toss between either Cowboy Bebop or Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. However a recent surprise favourite for me has to go to Gainax's crazy and nonsensical Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. What a weird and crazy ride that was.
" Everyone here is clearly forgetting the animated masterpiece that is Samurai Jack. "I sure did. Thank you for reminding me of that awesome show. Oh yea just to name some more, Angry Beavers, Dexter's Laboratory, Courage the Cowardly Dog and Invader Zim.
My favorite anime is Cowboy Bebop.
My favorite western animated show is King of the Hill. Most people I've talked to seem to think it's boring, but I think it's one of the funniest shows on T.V.
" Really tough decision. Can I mention three? Though I spent more time than I could count watching the Batman and Spider-Man animated series, Samurai Jack is still my favorite cartoon of all time. "@Sovereign13 said:

Samurai Jack was pretty fricking awesome. I may have to go home and watch some tonight now.
For old school animation, a lot of folks on GB love Ducktales, Darkwing Duck and Rocko's Modern Life. I personally love Thundarr the Barbarian, The Herculoids and Josie & the Pussycats. There is also a strong fanbase for the Pokemon opening song and the Poke-rap.
For more adult fare, Futurama is thought of very highly as well as Venture Brothers and South Park (still). I like the first two at least, but along with Family Guy have abandoned South Park. I've been a life long Simpsons fan, but even I don't watch it on Sundays anymore. Time to let that one go, FOX.
The best animated shows on TV today are Phineas & Ferb (DIS), Adventure Time (CN), Archer (FX), and Futurama (CC). If you are familiar with anime, there was a show called Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt last year that is also worth mentioning. It looks like an American TV cartoon but it's about as crude and raunchy as they come. Hilarious through and through.
Kid: Rocko's Modern Life (probably still my favorite of all time)
Teen: Ed, Edd 'n Eddy
Now: Phineas and Ferb
And that's if I pick just one for each, there's plenty of others I could list, I grew up on cartoons/animated shows
Batman the Animated Series is the greatest cartoon of all time. Its lack of presence here disturbs me.
The other Bruce Timm DC shows, Futurama, pre-season 9 Simpsons and Dexter's Lab are also great.
While I'm on topic- screw Nickelodeon. Every cartoon they have ever produced sucked.
I disagree, I think Danny Phantom is excellent :P" Batman the Animated Series is the greatest cartoon of all time. Its lack of presence here disturbs me. also the fuckin last airbender is amazing, but that's kinda anime so I didn't count it
Ducktales. Nah, I'm shitting you. That's my second favourite." I was wondering if I could get some Giant Bomber's opinion on this: what is everyone's favorite animated TV show? I used to love loads of old 90's cartoons. I like Cowboy Bebop, too, but that's anime. Does it count?
Futurama, Simpsons and American Dad for the adult side (AD has gotten SOOO much better than it started. I think it's because that hack McFarlane is busy with Family Guy, so writers actually revolve this show around plot and character...what a concept! FG was the same when it was great in the first 3 seasons)
My favs as a kid were Batman the Animated Series, TMNT (90's one), Tom and Jerry and Loony Tunes (my Dad is a paramedic and used to be at home on call a lot, so I spent a lot of afternoons with him learning about the old greats!)
Has to be Family Guy. It's unbelievably funny.
If I was 10 I would have without a doubt said the Simpsons but they're shit now.
"Favorite" for me means I can repeatedly watch almost any episode, any time, and still enjoy it. Fitting that definition are Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Rocko's Modern Life, and Home Movies. I really like Archer, Family Guy, and South Park, but I've never felt the need to watch any of the episodes more than once.
80's and 90's stuff are the best.
- The Real Ghostbusters
- DuckTales
- Garfield and Friends
- Johnny Bravo
- Dexter's Lab
- The Simpsons
- GI Joe
- Transformers
- The Simpsons
