I have a part time job working at an electronics store while I'm in college. About 2 months ago a woman and 3 of her kids came in. They looked to be about 8, 10, and 12. She had gift cards for all 3 to buy any game they wanted. The two younger kids got harmless E rated games. The older one wanted Gears of War. His mom was about to get it for him until I overheard her son lie to her about it being somewhat non-violent. I took it upon myself to set her straight on the rating system and told her about the effects of a chainsaw bayonet on a locust soldier and how blood splashes against the screen. She then looked like she was about to kill him and told him to get a non-violent game or else he won't get anything. The kid was then getting misty eyed but I also saw him reach towards Ninja Gaiden 2. I then told the mother about the gallons of blood and persistent corpse pieces. She spanked that ass and the kid started to cry and shot me a look of hate as the family exited my work area. I patted myself on the back for doing my part for a better tomorrow.
PS. Yes I realize mad should be made in the title. Thanks for pointing that out in advance people. No edit tool for titles on GB.
Have you ever mad a child cry?

And yes, I have, from the sheer sexiness of my presence.
"Well did you tell her what the M rating is?"Yes I educated here on the entire rating system and showed her my handy dandy chart.
Good on ya man.
Don't feel bad at all. You did the right thing :)
The only game-related child-crying incident was when I was at a home-blessing party (I'm Catholic) and they held a mini-tournament. The game was Rock Band and we had two guitars for duals. There were a lot of small children there, but I didn't show any mercy.
Excuses from the children included:
1. Their hands slipped
2. Their fingers are smaller
3. I was apparently cheating
4. I was somehow hacking O_O
5. I suck?
You gotta love children. :P
"Yeah. I peed on a kid for trying to take my Koolaid last year."Wow, thats only mildly disturbing.
"I punched my little brother in the stomach because he tried to sneak some chocolate mousse i made for myself."I hope you re-enforced the reason why you hit him. "Do you know why I hit you?" Don't leave him alone until he admits stealing and how wrong it was.
"Bnfbnggbfg said:but seeing as 90% of his topics are about either hurting people physically or emotionally, it's odd."Shadow skill, why are you still allowed to make topics?"Because his topics sometimes have some good laughs. Like the dude who wrote he peed on a kid!"
"100 said:These kids got what they damn well deserved. I shouldn't have had to pay that kid for a measly dixie cup of Koolaid without any ice in it. Him and his stupid stand can go to hell."Bnfbnggbfg said:but seeing as 90% of his topics are about either hurting people physically or emotionally, it's odd.""Shadow skill, why are you still allowed to make topics?"Because his topics sometimes have some good laughs. Guess I showed him with my stream of fury, eh?
I one time accidentally ran over a kid snow boarding. He was out cold. I thought I broke every bone in the kids body. I like knocked him down halfway of the mountain lol man I felt really bad when it happened. lol, I remember his dad coming over and like screaming and cussing. I just stood there with my friend and my friend was saying how he need more lessons to get out out of the way and be on easier routes and the dad just tells us you shut the f*ck up. I'll never forgot that, the kid ended up being okay, though
If you would have done that to me i would have kicked your ass lol
But no, i have never made a child cry

Good for you. There are ratings for a reason, if the parent thinks their kid is mature enough despite the rating given then the kid should get the game. But she needs to be informed first.
Yeah, I've made lots of kids cry. Accidently when I was younger I made my cousin who is a year younger than me cry all the time. But now it's all good.
I also had a CIT (Counciler In Training) "job" at a camp for little kids and there were a couple of brats who deserved to be shouted at into tears. I'm not a mean person, but some kids need to learn that they are not the center of the world.

I kicked a five year old in the chin once and he wailed like a baby.
I should add that I was also five. It was cool though because my kindergarten teacher, who was quite a bitch, didn't really give a shit since he pinched me first and I didn't get any punishment. Then when I got home my family kinda laughed and said I shouldn't do that again, and then I went upstairs and watched Ahh! Real Monsters. What a day
one time i pushed this annoying kid following me around down a FLIGHT of stairs......like he fell for 10 minutes....and i ran away lol
The only time I've made a kid cry is when my cousin wants to play and I don't feel like it, so she throws a fit.
"I punched this one kid because I thought he was making fun of me..turns out he had down syndrome.."
