How do you get the most out of your GiantBomb subscription?

I signed up in December and am curious how you maximize your subscription. I went to the premium member hub, then the Big Red Phone, which apparently doesn't exist anymore according to comments. Why would they still have that on a FAQ?

I prefer watching videos on my iPad, though it doesn't support the live content like TNT (until it's uploaded to the site). Do you have your videos download to iTunes?

I've watched a few old videos based on forum searches like Drew's visit to North Korea etc., so I don't need any advice in that area, unless you want to share. What are the best forums? I enjoy reading/positing on this Off-Topic forum. On GameFAQS the PS3 forum was always very active, which was nice since that's what I own. Here it's practically dead.

I usually download the videos for later viewing. It's pretty convenient, though I seem to remember that I used to be able to download them before they change the emitted code...

I know that really doesn't answer the question at all, but that at least solves one of your problems.

I visit ComicVine's website and watch some of their hot and latest premium content.

The only thing I get out of it is watching the archived live stuff, which can be seen on twitch anyway. It's really a waste of money for the little we get out of it, but the odd show being members only is enough to make me throw away a $50 a year.

You might be right. I'll dig into that after work. Do I need to sign up for a Twitch account seperately from GiantBomb?

Pretty sure you don't need a Twitch account, but don't quote me on that.

Then we're talking about cancelling my cable, which I've considered recently, but I haven't taken the time to find a useful guide to get the most out of being cable-less.

Being able to download HD videos for watching in my living room is probably how I get the most out of my sub.

Forum-wise, I just browse by recent topics. Compared to the rest of the internet at large, GB seems more chill about specific platforms and cares more about the games themselves.

I cancelled my cable about two years ago and haven't missed it at all. http://www.antennaweb.org/ is a good place to start if you still want to watch network tv (football!), between Netflix, a half-ass pair of rabbit ears and a couple torrents here and there, I've saved a lot of money and still watch almost everything I want to.

All of it. Plus the over the air HD is a better picture because the signal isn't compressed like cable.

The only drawback is how far you live from the where the stations broadcast, but I live pretty far out in the boonies and can pick up all the networks and then some with a seventy dollar antennae.

I just keep downloading the Persona 4 ER in HD. Then deleting it. Then downloading it again. Then I go to sleep, wake up, and delete and redownload the Persona 4 ER.

I get a gold medal around my user icon. That's worth $50 a year.

You also get access to certain premium videos. Jar time with Jeff Pc games with Vinny and Drew The gold medal is nice. There was a premium hub? Whaaaaat? I missed out.. I might pay for another year, but not right now. I would like to point out that I still can watch stuff in HD, is there bug?

the amount of dumb stuff they do makes my subscription worth it.

You buy a 4TB external hard drive, you get hell of fast Internet, and then you proceed to download every Giant Bomb video ever produced.

Is it still worth being a premium member? I'm still debating if I want to or not.

I guess. It would be a bit silly of them not to.

I just watch the premium shiz. Honestly, the shit that Vinny, Dave, and Drew do completely justifies my subscription in my opinion.

@Osaladin: I subsribed for the first time last year, mainly because I wanted to watch the PC games videoes.

I break out my mirror and credit card. It goes by fast, but boy is it worth it.

On a serious note, I'm not in the possession of a computer that could take advantage of everything GB+ has to offer. Besides that, I don't think I'd get anything done if I had access to premium video and audio content as well as the regular onslaught.

Speaking of, is the Whiskey Media Radio Show dead, on account of Whiskey being basically dead?
