Hey y'all. At the risk of breaking the illusion, and driving you all insane with our banjo loop, I thought I'd give some insight into what it takes to edit a typical segment of I Love Mondays, from start to finish. So, in the immortal words of Jonesy, "here it is... at ten times speed."
How to Make a Monday
Hey y'all. At the risk of breaking the illusion, and driving you all insane with our banjo loop, I thought I'd give some insight into what it takes to edit a typical segment of I Love Mondays, from start to finish. So, in the immortal words of Jonesy, "here it is... at ten times speed."
Crazy stuff. Whenever I go to edit some simple video I always underestimate how much work it takes as I never seem to remember how much work it was last time.
You guys should do some tutorial videos for tested on how to do some of the video editing tricks you guys use.
EDIT:OMG! That part where you used the mask layer in photoshop as a gradient invisible overlay just blew my mind! I had been trying to use a similar effect recently and for the life of me I couldn't think of how I used to do it! Thank you!
Very cool, Drew!
So if this is x10 speed, does that it took you over an hour to edit a 2 minute 30 second video? That's crazy.
Wait, how could you end this video without showing us the final product? That's like watching one of those How It's Made episodes, but never seeing somebody using the product du jour.
" Wait, how could you end this video without showing us the final product? That's like watching one of those How It's Made episodes, but never seeing somebody using the product du jour. "You've got to save something! Watch I Love Mondays and you'll see the final product!
Cool behind the scenes look at how these videos are made. Way more goes into them then I thought. That would take me all day to make that 1 video and you knock it out in an hour.
" Wow, that seems like a lot of work for a 2 minute video. "As someone who has dabbled in video editing before, I can tell you that it's always more work than it appears to be. Even a 30-second video (depending, of course, on its content) is probably going to be complicated enough to create to make the average casual viewer's head spin. Always appreciate the video editors. So much of the "magic" of a video can be attributed to them. (See any of the past few Thursday Night Throwdowns for an example.)
Awesome! final cut pro and soundtrack pro! nice job drew. I want to start a career in video editing, got any advice for me?
I dont know why but I love the slaving away at video editing. I just get lost editing sometimes but not professionally obviously
