Hurricane Sandy - how are you holding out?

To all east coast bombers, tell me how you holding out with the storm? What're doing to pass the time?

So far it been pretty windy here in Brooklyn. Everything around the house has been tied down so just in case the winds pick, nothing will be flying. Been playing some old games that I haven't finish and doing some college work while I still got power and internet.

It's pretty calm here in Sweden.

Just an overcast day thus far here in NB. They say it's not supposed to hit here until tonight/tomorrow. We will see. They always act like it's the end of the world on the news and the worst we ever get is some rain/wind and a power outage for an hour or two.

Hope everyone over there will be ok anyway. We barely get anything over here in England apart from a bit of wind and rain or the whole country grinding to a stop when we get a bit of snow on the roads.

Lots and lots of rain here in Pittsburgh. Supposedly the winds are supposed to start picking up later tonight. Until then, I am doing everything I need to to do on the computer before we lose power!

Holding it down fine here in Brooklyn. Families over in Howard Beach though (right before rockaway) and almost every street is flooded. Like take out the boats flooded. Gonna have to squeeze about seven of them in this small apartment though if it seems like things are gonna go real bad tonight.

Wind's picking up intermittently here in southern PA, but the rain is still mild. Trying to enjoy the electricity while I can.

I live 10 miles out of Atlantic City (where the eye is supposed to hit at 8pm tonight).

Really rainy and windy, no flooding in my neighborhood yet. I hear the beach is gone tho. I still have power.

Well, good luck to everyone on the East Coast of the US, hopefully it won't be that bad. Does put things in perspective, me whining about having to ride my bike through some rain and wind here in the Netherlands

I lucked out and am just catching the edge of the storm. Tons of rain and wind, with no real damage, and best of all no work!

Still pretty quiet around here, wind seems to be picking up though.

It's fine in philly, but the town where my shore house is in NJ is completely underwater.

Rainy and windy here in New York but nothing too crazy.

I'm basically convinced Sweden is the perfect Country.

It hasn't hit yet here in Youngstown, OH (a little Northwest of Pittsburgh). I guess we're supposed to get it tonight or tomorrow sometime. This is the first time I can remember being even a little concerned about a hurricane in freaking Ohio.

Here in Southern Ontario we just have a lot of wind and some rain. Nothing too serious thankfully.

Right near the beach in Delaware. Wind and rain are pretty nuts right now. Just hunkered down reading Cloud Atlas for now. Me and my puppy are gonna try and ride the storm out. Stay safe Duders!

Nothing in central CT. The news overhyped the drama for this region. We're going to get some strong winds and about 3'' of rain, but nothing that can't be handled.

Unseasonably warm in Winnipeg. It's like 1 above.

Parts of North Carolina got hit but here in the central southern part we're not getting anything except lots of wind and lots of clouds, plus it's really cold. So I guess I can think Hurricane Sandy for the first wonderful day of the coldest part of the year.

Wind is starting to pick up quite a bit and the rain is getting heavier. I live by a river that nearly flooded last year so I'm kinda worried.

I'm in Bethlehem, PA (hour north of Philadelphia) and it's been incredibly mild here so far. Worst has been rolling south of us and the NOAA rain estimate for this afternoon has dropped considerably. They shut down work anyway and let me go home at 12:45. Been at the company ten years and they have never closed down before. Supposed to get worse tonight as the storm make landfall, but right now it seems we are getting lucky.

In the greater Toronto area, so far the rain has been nothing I wouldn't consider walking through if I didn't have an umbrella but then there are some people at work stocking up on food and water.

Rain and wind here in Connecticut. Currently playing some Halo: Reach and waiting for the storm the news kept hyping to be so bad to actually happen.

Boston is uneventful so far, but is supposed to get way worse.

Good thing we're in a basement apartment with minimal drainage.

Hurricanes supppsed to hit Middlesex nj around 8. But the winds are pretty crazy now.

Rain and wind so far in Pennsylvania, though the latter is picking up. Was ordered to work from home for the day, so it's just been a lot of sitting around, drinking coffee, and looking out the window. And trying not to eat all the snacks bought to survive days without power.

Got 2 days off from classes already, and so far it's just strong winds and some rain. I'd love Wednesday off as well (if you are listening space raptor jesus) but I'll take the free 4 day weekend and just watch the wind go apeshit with all the random trash on the ground here in NYC

Middle of Long Island it is raining pretty hard and extremely windy.

Wind and rain in Gloucester County NJ. Nothing too bad just yet but it looks like I'll get tagged pretty hard tonight. Everything with a battery is charged and I borrowed a fat UPS from work if I need to keep some lights on for a while. Consuming as much media as I can now in case power goes out. No use in freaking out about it, the neighbors are doing enough of that already.

In Fort Erie, Canada (borders Buffalo, NY) and everything is calm here at the moment. Overcast, light rain and some light wind, but nothing out of the ordinary. Hoping it stays that way.

I'm in Albany NY not to bad right now but it should be pretty bad tonight I believe. I'm at work at the moment and dreading going into work tomorrow!

West of Boston the wind and rain is starting to pick up. not so bad otherwise.

Not much in Columbus, OH. It's been raining the last 2-3 days and it's cold as shit, but beyond that it's fine. Wind is supposed to be miserable sometime soon...

I went into work for about 2.5 hours before they sent everyone home. Pretty pointless to even go in but I didn't mind since I live 2 miles away. I have the next two days off and have so many games I'm not even worry about being trapped in the house. If power goes out, I have plenty of books to ready through. I have the next two days off from work because of my schedule so I'm not too concerned if we stay open or closed.
