What about a Bionic Commando Rearmed style remake of Super Metroid on PSN and XBLA. Not in the same style of graphics but in the sense that it looks awesome and all 1080P and HD.

A problem though....... Metroid is Nintendo's ;( So it'll never happen.

Oh well.

There's a ton of old games that they could do this with and I would buy immediately. An awesome one would be Streets of Rage 2 with a remixed soundtrack and new graphics.

yeah, not one of those reskins that sometimes look like a bad flash game, I was thinking full HD 3D with the same gameplay. That Streets of Rage 2 bright art style in nice 3D graphics would be gorgeous.

@Scooper: A game doesn't have to be 1080p to look good. In fact many games in 1080p look ugly. And the Wii can house great-looking 2D (and 3D for that matter) games, just look at Lost Winds.

@Snipzor: No, Metroid Prime was not a remake of Super Metroid. Where the hell did you get that? The two games are based on entirely different points in Samus' life.

@Suicrat: I know a game doesn't have to be 1080p to look good I was just saying it would be a plus. Not for me though since I don't have a HDtv. I was just emphasizing the fact of it have really nice graphics in the same vein as Rearmed, which, no matter how much you think, the Wii can't do.

Of course they could come out with a much better graphic version of the original game on Wiiware, prehaps just upping the 2D sprites to high res and it would look great. But I'm talking about high res 3D models and great lighting effects but still on the same 2D plane so it would play just like the SNES version. They both would be amazing and I'd love to play either but the point of my idea was that it was like Rearmed and for it to be of the graphical quality of Rearmed it has to be on the higher graphics systems.

Plenty of great remixes out there already for it. I love 2's soundtrack, probably my favorite game music ever, but if I want to listen to it I have it on my iPod. Plenty of talented people who can remix old game tracks, see the Bionic Commando Rearmed soundtrack.
