I really fucking hate it. I can ignore it but everytime I go back to youtube tab to restart the video I'm watching, it just annoys me by looking at me. I hope I'm not the only one who hates it. D:!
PS: Also is it gray or grey? I always go with gray. But also grey is also someone's name. So I get confused easily.
@Keenblaze: frankly, it's not such a big deal for me. half the time it doesn't even pop up and when it does, i'm more focuses on the actual video than the bar.

This video shows how to block the bar using greasemonkey and adblock in firefox. Although im not sure why you need the greasemonkey addon for the method they used. Its good to have anyways. Click through to the youtube page for the video to see links to the important sites you need to go to to get the addons.
So...yeah, I'm really enraged about this terribly intrusive addition to the "youtube website." Sign my petition, boys! Will get these megalomaniac website developers taken down!

I've only been on Youtube once since it appeared but I already don't like it. Actually thought about starting a topic about the same thing for a fleeting moment.

its a new feature that autoplays videos that relate to whatever you are currently watching. So if you are subscribed to Fred and you are watching a fred video and you arent currently using a playlist, youtube now uses that bar to autocreate and play a playlist of Fred's recent videos for you. For the most part this is actually pretty convenient. The big problem is that when you look at one of your recent videos from a person you are subscribed to in your list of new videos, it starts autoplaying all the new videos so it jumps from account to account and subject to subject. Also, while it autohides, it un-hides a bit too easily. Get anywhere near it and it pops out, likely obsuring the bottom of your video.
I just wish i could get youtube videos to reliably play without randomly stopping loading for no reason. I have a good connection and it is not a problem for other video sites like Blip or the porn youtube sites (:P, don't judge) and i can't think of why they would have a more reliable video player that youtube. It's weird.
All our favorite videos are on YouTube and it has the largest community.
I absolutely hate most of the new changes they have made over the past year to the interface, and I think most of the changes are designed to dumb down everything and/or make use stay on longer than we planned to on YouTube,
but I'm resigned to the fact that I'm probably going to use YouTube anyway until some other website starts beating it...
I didn't know what you were talking about until I just went to YouTube. It doesn't seem like a big deal to me. My mouse cursor never really makes it down that far so I'm ok with it.
Also, I think that "gray" or "grey" is fine. I think that they're interchangeable. I can't be arsed to check right now because I'm too lazy, but I think you're fine.
Yeah, I don't like it at all. It's like the profile overlay thing Giantbomb had at the bottom right of the screen for a while, but way more of an obtrusive eyesore, and comparatively useless.

I've hated everything about youtube for awhile now.. Vevo, the ads, this episode/season bullshit, mememolly selling out. Like wtf happened to youtube? It used to be awesome.
I was under the assumption that Grey and Gray are used for two different things. Like one would be for the color and the other refers to mood or atmosphere. Doesn't make any sense now that I think about it. ;-P
I hate it for two reasons, 1. It keeps popping up when I move my mouse near it by accident. 2. I watch a video and want to comment, well it automatically moves onto the next video in my subscriptions. Meaning I have to go back just to comment. Nothing major but I find it annoying and not helpful in any way.
