True, true.IGN does all kinds of stupid Tops lists just for clicks.
IGN's "Top 5 reasons Dark Souls will eat Skyrim's Face"...Really?
Why Rapelay will smash IGN's face.
I laughed when I got this one on the generator.
Anyway about the article in question, IGN be trolling... again.
EDIT: I also liked this one: Top Ten sexiest mine cart levels in videogames.
EDIT EDIT: This one killed me: PAX: The plastic peripherals in Rapelay gave me goosebumps.
I wonder how much money IGN makes off Giant Bomb forum posters complaining and linking every stupid article they put up?
The IGeNerator gave me this:
Why Cave Story will lick Gears of War's face.
Which is eerily close to the actual title of the article in question.
It's funny because yesterday I thought to myself, "Hey, I haven't been on IGN for a long time, I wonder what they're like nowadays." Long story short this was the first article I clicked on (and that's all that matters for them - advertising).
You clicked through the article and actually linked to it on another site. They won. You just got them a bunch of page views... Don't click on stupid shit like that or top 10 and 100 lists, they are just there to gain traffic.
Giant Bomb Forum Thread Generator. Glass house people.
I skimmed through it and it did seem like bs. Don't get me wrong, I'm more excited for Dark Souls (1 week 3 days left!!!), but skyrim is showing a lot of promise, including, imo, better and more dynamic battles with dragons. Both are going to be excellent and I don't even think they can be compared that much. The pace and feel of dark souls will be completely different to skyrim.

So...IGN is a shit website. Nothing new.
I take it you didn't read the article in its entirety. This is almost as grand as the MW3 v BF3 fight raging for First-Person Shooters this November.
I read the first page, didn't continue cause I didn't feel like giving them more hits. For the record, I think the BF3 vs MW3 "fight" is equally stupid.
I'll probably get both. I enjoyed and played Oblivion more than Demons Souls though because the difficulty when playing as a ranger was frustratingly punishing. I don't mind I challenge, I don't mind dying over and over and over and over (you get the idea?) but I died so many times on the same part that I found it ridiculous. I know what you're thinking(maybe), "Why didn't you just change classes?" Well good point. I should give Demons Souls another try one of these days.
That article was fairly biased and they excluded a large amount of the information about the dragons on the last part. From what I've heard the dragons in Skyrim will be totally unpredictable in their actions, which adds layers of apprehension and fear to the confrontations.
Appearances, while significant, are not everything.
If the dragons look cool but act like bumbling and dim witted creatures than what's the fun and thrill in killing them?
I haven't really been following Dark Souls so I can't really comment on their AI so that comment is just conjecture.
Here are five things I got from that generator-
Why Resident Evil will smash VVVVVV's face
How roosters could increase 999's popularity.
GDC: The polar bears in Imagine: Babyz gave me profound sadness.
Is GoldenEye a GoldenEye for adults? (WTF?)
E3: The morgues in Wii Fit gave me inspiration.

Yes, because forum topics made by fans are the same as bylines created by professional writers.
haha this actually does sound like something ign would write.

"Glass House Effect (or GHE), is the resulting phenomenon brought on by an awareness that one is subject to ubiquitous surveillance. In corporate environments, the transparency is considered a good idea, as it is believed this discourages corporate crime and other misfeasance.
GHE can induce an overwhelming sense of hopelessness brought on those subject to such uncontrolled observation. In such circumstances, solitude is conspicuously absent, andprivacy is considered a thoughtcrime. The messages conveyed to the subject in such an environment usually involve some variation on the notion of Catch-22, such as
- There is no place to hide; nor should you want to.
- Any exhibited avoidance behavior is considered a threat, and an invitation for additional scrutiny."

That's not what he was talking about. This has nothing to do with paranoia.
He's referring to the idiomatic phrase:-
"People who live in Glass Houses shouldn't throw stones"
Basically, it means that if you're going to criticise people make sure you're not as easily judged. He thinks that forum topics are the same as professionally written article headlines designed to attract attention, which of course is fucking bullshit.
@SeriouslyNow: My response was more of a joke..but good to know what you he were really referring to.
I like that having no DLC is better than having any at any price. It's kind of like how Dark Souls is worse than nothing, because Dark Souls is a game that costs 60 bucks and nothing is free.
@SeriouslyNow: This thread is entitled "IGN's " Top 5 reasons..." ...Really?", a title designed to attract attention. A true gamer might hang around in a glass house, but a true gamer would never like to live in a glass house. The glasses here are bulletproof anyway thanks to the top men in charge. Hissyfit.

I won't read any top 5/ top 10 list of any kind in its entirety if bullshit websites separate the list in pages just to buff their page views. It's even worse when there are ads in between like in IGN.
This right here.
RIGHT HERE
bullshit websites separate the list in pages just to buff their page views.
Stop doing this, internet.
So wait...when Jeff says something semi-controversial it's a 'matter of opinion, don't take it so seriously.'
But when IGN says something semi-controversial, it's because 'it's a shitty site that's full of shit.'
It couldn't possibly be a case of a individual editor expressing their opinion could it? Oh no, wait, it's just shit.
GB Community cracks me up.
I understand that everyone gets mad when there favorite main stream big budget game get talked bad about , just because skyrim looks pretty does not mean it wont still be the same game that oblivion was. Oblivions combat was not very good and Skyrims does not look to change it very much asaid from a few new animations for the main character.
