I'm not going to lie, but i wan't Dark Souls more than i want Skyrim. Personally i put 300 hours into Oblivion and Fallout 3, guess i'm just getting a bit burnt out on Bethesda games.
IGN's "Top 5 reasons Dark Souls will eat Skyrim's Face"...Really?
It's kind of hard to make a comparison isn't it? I thought this Dark Souls was a semi-linear RPG kind of thing where you're trying pretty damn hard to survive and fight huge boss fights? Whereas Skyrim is an open world RPG with lots of items, not the formal type of boss fights (dragons are boss leveled creatures, yes there's a difference) and it's not very linear. I may be wrong about Dark Souls, but damn IGN... what the hell? Really? They may be shit, but this is a new low. Next we'll see articles comparing MW3/BF3 to Fifa 12 or something...
That list is an EPIC OF EPIC EPICNESS BRO!!!!! YEEEEAAAH!!! BACON!!! SHOOT THINGS IN THE FACE!!!!!!! YEEEEAAAH!!!
Fuck that faggot shit and just accept that it's part of this faggoty nerd culture already.
I've been meaning to write a topic about that very same post. I've stopped going to IGN after blissing out here on GiantBomb for a while now, basically because of articles like that. It's just unbelievable and completely unnecessary, and after reading the entire article (which was not the easiest thing in the world (seriously, announcing a "WINNER" for each catagory? Is that really necessary?)) I was left even more confounded. I understand why a large corporation has interests in being inflammatory, but come on. Both of these games look incredible, and personally I am more excited for Skyrim, it's just my speed, so perhaps I'm a bit biased in my outrage.
It's this type of "journalism" that is poisoning gaming culture and crippling a creative industry.

Lol, that sounds wrong....That was the 2nd on I generated...
"GDC: The babes in hardcore games gave me a nerdgasm."
Oh, my. Nerdgasm...
It was a sarcastic article. It began with "eating Skyrim's face." How is that not obvious sarcasm.... IGN sells ads, hence you get sensational headlines. Both games will be awesome in their own respects, I feel like the whole thing was mostly a joke about the video game community's obsession with competition and comparative rankings.

That article title sounds exactly like something that IGN headline generator would create. So I guess that means they really are getting their article ideas from it?
"Why Epic Mickey will forget Lost: Via Domus's face."
Wat.

I used it and one of the first things that came up was "What Donkey Kong can learn from Dark Souls"
Top Ten coldest crates in videogames. Why Ratchet & Clank will love Darksiders's face.
Well they obviously succeeded on number 2, and partly on number 1.Fuck all of this. Don't give credence to IGN and its clear attempt to 1. bolster page views 2. incite nerd rage.
That generator is a fantastic waste of time. I applaud the people who made it possible. It really does make headlines that sound like they would be put up on IGN...

Awesome.
I don't have anything to say, but this generated title captures my thoughts on this whole topic:

This shit is gold!
I heard the article title a couple days ago. Half of the reasons I came up with before reading were reasons they agreed with. "Eat its face," maybe not, but some of those things may be better in Dark Souls than in Skyrim.
It's IGN. I like to think they stand around one of those dart carnival games and throw darts at random nouns, adjectives, and verbs then try write a coherent sentence out of it, then write an article around that. It's either that or manatees like in that South Park episode about Family Guy. Actually I'm gonna go with the manatees.
I can't say more about the "Fun loving, and smart*" people at IGN trying to validate creating a stupid article.

I'm all for IGN wanting to help get the word out about Dark Souls, but all that article seemed to do was make the commenters dislike the game because Skyrim was compared unfavorably with it.
I don't know if I'm losing faith in the gaming public for not wanting to try something new, or IGN for being stupid enough to make an article like this.
it's IGN being Stupid.
*trying to say nicer things about stuff I don't like... (lying)

Completely true, I clicked that and the first thing that came up was "Why Call of Duty will dropkick IOS games' face."
