As an Australian, I've been hearing about the company's bigotry lately and how people are sad they're not going to be able to eat there anymore. But looking at the menu, it doesn't look that great?
Is Chick-Fil-A really that great?
Yes it is. Don't you doubt it. It's that fuckkng good. I'd rather get a chicken sandwich there than many nice, sit down restaurants.
Political stance or not, if I need a damn chicken sandwich I'm getting a damn chicken sandwich from chick Fil a
I think Chick-Fil-A is subpar at best. It was pitched to me as the "In N' Out of chicken sandwiches" and it's not, and this is coming from a person who doesn't find In N' Out to be all that great either. The sandwiches are small for what you pay for, the chicken itself is barely flavorful, and the veggies are somewhat fresh. Don't eat at Chick-Fil-A because of their anti-gay marriage stance. Don't eat at Chick-Fil-A because their food quality is on par with just about any other fast food joint.
@Jumbs: The company isn't bigotry. It is all blown out of porportion. This is from Chick-fil-A's own website
Chick-fil-A is a family-owned and family-led company serving the communities in which it operates. From the day Truett Cathy started the company, he began applying biblically-based principles to managing his business. For example, we believe that closing on Sundays, operating debt-free and devoting a percentage of our profits back to our communities are what make us a stronger company and Chick-fil-A family.
The Chick-fil-A culture and service tradition in our Restaurants is to treat every person with honor, dignity and respect –regardless of their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender. We will continue this tradition in the over 1,600 Restaurants run by independent Owner/Operators. Going forward, our intent is to leave the policy debate over same-sex marriage to the government and political arena. Our mission is simple: to serve great food, provide genuine hospitality and have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A.
It's a chicken sandwich. Some are better, some are worse, but it's ultimately a chicken sandwich. Some seem to think the taste of a chicken sandwich is more important than choosing to stand against the vocal and unrepentant suppression of people in our society. I guess that's their decision to make, but when such a thing is made plain to me by the company itself, I can't personally look the other way and continue to stuff my gob with chicken sandwiches.
@Dagbiker: Well of course that's what they say, they still want some people to buy their product, doesn't make there owner any less of a close minded religious dickhat.
It's a pretty fucking good chicken sandwich. Definitely the best option fast food wise, in my opinion.
Seriously. Talk about setting them up for failure.Chick-Fil-A has awesome food.
This amuses me.
It's alright. I usually get some of their sandwiches a couple times a month at my university for lunch. It is quite expensive for the amount of food you get but it's just kind of addicting.

Yes, but the owner is not the company.

your money still goes to anti-gay marriage groups so yeah.
i had some a few years ago when i was on vacation and was hooked. since the closest one to me where i live is 2 hours away i've only had it most recently when i made the drive and bought a platter that i froze so i could have some for the next month or so. it's even awesome reheated after being frozen, can't say that about most fast food.
The waffle fries are fucking awesome and the two in my city are the some of the cleanest fast food joints I've seen. I won't stop eating there, but I don't understand why people think that same sex marriage would fuck up society. There was a time when interracial marriage was illegal; this country is so damn stupid.
It's easily the best fast food place out here on the east coast. You won't find a better chicken sandwich at any fast food place, any sit down chain restaurant, and most ma and pa places. So really if you want a better one you would have to make it yourself.
The only fast food place that compares in my area is a Wendy's they recently renovated to be their new flagship location in our area. The food that that location is fantastic and looks like it came straight from the commercials. Also it has Coke Freestyle machines.
As far as the controversy is concerned you always knew where your money was going when you dealt with such an openly Christian organization. Hell I went to Catholic school all my life and we knew where that money was going. But I went anyway because it was either pay to get a good education or go to my public school which is one of the worst in the country. Basically you don't have to punish yourself because other people are assholes. If you want a damn Chick-fil-a sandwich get one. Because nothing has changed.
@joshth: Can you give a synopsis of what the hell happened that makes you not want to go anymore?
All I heard is some anti gay stuff, who actually said that?
I'm just going to post this here so people can have a little bit of their nonsense shoved back in their face. I do not support, nor do I oppose the gay-rights movement, but I will be enjoying my chicken sandwich like a sane person and not let some "supposed" common ideal make me feel bad for it. People seem to think that just because they support added rights that they are automatically justified in treating other people like shit. As I said, I am not for or against, but I do not deserve hatred for not making a choice when there are far more important things for me to voting and researching in 2012.
Also, this has been taken way out of proportion and is just being used as a tool to further some right or left wing agenda rather than prove any progress. I mean who fucking cares?
I think the foods great but this quote from the CEO on CBSnews.com terrifies me.
Furthering his views on the radio program "The Ken Coleman Show" in June, Cathy said, "I think we are inviting God's judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say 'we know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage,' and I pray God's mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to define what marriage is about."

People aren't gonna know what to do when they ask the In-N-Out owner his view.....
Just read their cups, fry containers and bags.
