No, it's just changing, now it's more about candyflipping than trick or treating.
Is Halloween dying out?
Pretty big in my neighborhood. Heck, one family even set up a haunted house outside their homes. There were households getting together with bowls of candy on tables in front of their house and one epic Mike Myers themed home on me and my friends route. It all depends on the neighborhood.
Not at all... I had 42 kids this year, up from 35 last year. There are some slow years but it always picks up.
" My town only allowed 1 night of trick-or-treating. So yes. "what? who trick r treats on nights besides Halloween? WHAT??
I dont wanna go out anymore for t o t.
cause its boring. Its liek excisted in liek one million liek....years liek.
" No one has knocked on my door at all. "Same here and there are kids in the neighborhood. When I was a tyke, there would be bunches of kids ringing the doorbell for hours each wanting a handful of candy. Now, nary a whisper from anyone. I think parents that choose to celebrate Halloween are now taking their kids to supervised Halloween parties as opposed to the old door-to-door trick-or-treating. Maybe it's fear of razorblades in the offerings, getting hit by a car or pedophiles, but for whatever reason I think parents are changing the habits of the holiday.
