no
Is it inappropriate to use a picture of something other than your self on facebook (ie not real people)
Let me post the response of everybody to follow me, giving the mods reason to lock this (redundancy):
I've used Max the Rabbit, John Marston, a nuclear explosion and a neon bar sign as my pic at various times. I think no.
I dont think so, I have mine as a seaking right now for pokemon december, and when I first joined before I had any photos of me saved to my computer I just made a doodle me in paint as my profile picture.
" Well, not inappropriate, but stupid certainly. The entire point of FB is to connect with other people. Putting something that's not a personal picture of you as your "display" picture is just another barrier in the way of that. "All the people I'm connected with know who I am, so who does it affect if I want to change my picture to a funny drawing for a bit?
I'd like to know why 19 percent of people here do think it's wrong, because I'm yet to hear a valid point for that argument.
I currently have a picture of Georges St-Pierre as mine and it's fine. As long as you're not using someone else's picture to trick people into thinking you're not a Nintendo obsessed slob, then go nuts.
Given the nature of the site I think it's pretty stupid to use something other then a picture of you, but no there is nothing right or wrong about it.
