Is the GiantBomb Community THAT bad?

well, after reading this topic, some people, or a lot think the community ain't so great. while i don't frequent the forums very much where i did  for about the first year of the site, the community went downhill since then according to some. Now, i know that since the site is larger than in the past (90,000 + users at this point) there will undoubtedly be more idiots, but is it really bad like 4chan? or are there just some stand-out assholes? Personally, i do like to see the site growing and becoming more popular, it kinda saddens me that our community is getting less and less tight.
 
So, what do you think of the forums?

typical forum routine. ignore the small amount of idiots and you have a fantastic forum 

I think it's alright.  Could be much, much worse.  I think people just overreact to a lot of it.

Most of us are good. Some of us aren't. But most are good.

Some people are complete ass wipes and others actually go to the forums for discussion.

It's no worse than anywhere else on the internet, honestly. We just happen to hammer idiots with insults and swears until they cry, because swearing and being rude in general isn't against the rules. Those same idiots then cry about how terrible the forums are- that's how we get the bad rap, but the forums are full of cool and interesting people.

No way.  This site and the people on it are tremendous PARTICULARLY this man.  Plus we make free magazines 4 chan is only for porns and pictures of anime girls getting murdered "

I really wish there was some sort of, ''block'' button which allows you to block those assholes' posts.

There will always be people that are irritating for whatever reason. Most people on this site are interested in knowing more about videogames, having some discussion about them, and having some fun here and there. That's why I'm happy to be here.

Like I said in that topic, the community is pretty much like 4chan's /b/ and /v/ boards combined.  There are the users that try to be funny with their asshole comments, the "post whores" that might quote somebody and just say "This" or add nothing at all, the users who are just flat-out assholes, the users who complain if a video feature does not go their way, and there are just the regular "trolls" who just want to enrage other members.
 
There needs to be more moderation IMO so that we can weed out the trolls and assholes that go too far.

Just ignore those topics ( people complaining about everything...) and the trolls and your good.

Did we really need another topic about how "bad" things are? How about some topics about the things you actually like about the site instead...what a novel idea.
