Ever since I was around 15, I started to note down what movies I have seen and then put them into categories (e.g. April 2006, May 2006 etc). Is this silly do you think? I just like to keep record of what I've seen and then maybe look back at how many movies I have seen later on. Also, I give the respective rating too, so I can sort by bad and good movies. I do this on IMDb's My Movies feature.
What do you think about this?
Is this a silly thing to do?
hmm, well if you enjoy doing it, its not silly. its kinda cool thing to do, I love movies aswell. Btw, did you make your name L because of Deathnote? lol anyways yeah, not silly unless you find it boring and annoying. otherwise go ahead :P

It's simply because my name is Luke (well, at least I think it is anyway). :P
Yeah, it's just sort-of the Last.fm of movies. Except it has to be done manually, which isn't too bad seeing as I don't watch a whole load of movies one after another.
1. You shouldn't need to justify it to us.
2. No, it's not that wierd. Just don't go around calling it a hobby, even if that's what it is, 'cause saying it's a hobby is wierd. But saying you just like things organized isn't by no means.
yeah, Well actually now that I recall I did the same thing for awhile, I didnt take down what date it was or anything, but I was just keeping track for awhile.
"i think you should try to get a job as a movie reviewer make you hobby a job know what i mean "LOL. I'm no Roger Ebert.
Categorising and of past records is actually a pretty good thing. You never know when it might come in handy, but at the very least the information is there, in an organised way for you to access at your discretion.
I basically do the same thing except that I just keep all my movie tickets. Seems a bit easier than manually doing everything.
After working in theatres for over a decade I can tell you it's not weird at all.
At my old theatre we would wait for the end of the year (or really more around when the Oscar nominations came out) and then print out a list of all the movies released in that year. Each of us would count which ones we saw and then make lists of our top 5 and bottom 5 movies of that year. For a while it became a contest for who could see the most movies and it was also fun to see which movies that were on some peoples' Top 5 were also on other peoples' bottom 5.
...but then movie theatre employees tend to have a lot of free time...

I collect movie ticket stubs, earliest one I have is for Stuart Little in 1999. I'd keep tracks of movies I've seen, but now I think I've just seen too many to remember what they all were.
i'm just impressed you can be bothered to do it, i used to collect ticket subs for every gig and movie i went and stick them on the wall, had a good collection but ended up not being bothered to keep going, so hats off, very impressed!
I collected movie tickets for a while, but I got sick of it eventually and just stopped.
you should see if you can do it for the rest of your life
"May I see your list?Well, I don't collect movie tickets. I would always lose them. Plus, KFC keep them since they have some offer on the tickets. :D
I was thinking of doing that too. But ended up listing my "want to see movies" list."
I do have a list and thankfully, I can easily make it available. I have my list split into months but I have merged them all into one category. You can filter by genre, if you want too. This list would be from around 2005 onwards...

I mean, Look at me! xD I am OCD and I am fine... well, at least that is what -I- think... Then again, I am not -only- OCD, But I wouldn't want to bore you with the random details.
What do you think about this?"
Whatever floats your boat. It's not like you are putting on your sister's underwear or anything. It sounds like you have a hobby, good for you.

I didn't hear sequels were too good for The Matrix but I guess, I will judge for myself when I see the,"yorro said:You haven't seen the sequels of the Matrix?""May I see your list?Well, I don't collect movie tickets.
