Krispy Kreme is now Froggy Fresh. New song.

A while back, Krispy Kreme became a YouTube sensation when he released his debut song "The Baddest". Everyone called him a hoax and such for a while, even going so far as to dig into his history and learn what they believed to be his real name and history: Tyler Cassidy, a valedictorian student from Bendle High School in Flint, Michigan. He had previous songs as well under Tyler Cassidy, but his dumb redneck, John Cena-loving persona of Krispy Kreme and sidekick Money Maker Mike took the internet by storm.

However, now having been threatened with a lawsuit from the donut company Krispy Kreme, Tyler has made a transformation into a new name: Froggy Fresh. With it, he launched three new songs along a re-release of his album...and he's moving away from the dumb redneck persona just a little bit.

The new song, "Same Old Kid", is pretty damn raw. Good beat and the flow is much more in line with his previous work as Tyler Cassidy.

Giant Bomb, do you listen to Krispy Kreme/Froggy Fresh? Do you unironically love what this guy is doing like myself? What do you think of the new song?

Yesterday I was tricked about Kitty Pryde and today it's this. I'm getting old :( I was thinking "who would buy food from a place called Froggy Fresh" This makes a lot more sense.

Despite being fake, I enjoyed Krispy Kreme for a while, but he kept on releasing a new song every week that was not as good as the one before it. Like most things on the Internet, he got old after a month. Those first few videos, though, those were the best.

And fuck James.

@wjb: I've enjoyed all his songs, although some were weaker than others admittedly. He definitely started leaning more towards serious stuff, and with these three new songs, he's knee-deep in it. However, he shows off the actual skill that he has rather than just being dumb.

Also, if you think "fuck James", you should listen to "Mike's Mom". Seriously...FUCK JAMES!

The other day there was a thread about Kitty Pryde that had nothing to do with X-Men. Now there is a thread about Krispy Kreme that has nothing to do with Donuts. Next there will be a thread about Burger King that has nothing to do with Hamburgers

I think it's funny that there are people who get mad about this guy. It's like getting mad that Pee Wee Herman was an invented persona or that Will Farrell isn't really Robert Goulet.

I simply thought I was unfamiliar with the Krispy Kreme theme song, but I didn't feel "got" when I entered the thread, either.

Kitty Pryde is a name we might actually have to get used to, though. Saw her at the Madison concert where that dude threatened to rape her and stared at her angrily throughout the show. Most of us had no idea what was going on.

Based on that video you posted, he's not the kind of rapper I'm ever likely to like, but he's not bad!

Yes.

I love Krispy Kreme's stuff. Nearly all his songs are not only catchy but pretty hilarious as well. These new songs are really different but I'm kind of diggin' them.

I think this music is awful. But "Froggy Fresh" is a fantastic name.
