Neat.
Also, I think that since a couple years have passed since Dark Knight, and the US monies have inflated since then, I think it could top it, though I also think that would be sad.
i'm gonna go high and say 168 though it could go higher. this is part one of the end book. this is the beginning of the climactic end for this series. people all over are gonna come out of the woodworks for this movie like no ones business. i feel sorry for the russell crowe and the crew of the next three days because that movie will prolly do ok but it'll get squashed by HP. i will not be shocked if it beats dark knight for opening weekend record. i look forward to seeing it this weekend. hopefully thursday night.
I don't bet because my luck is like a flat tire. It's around, but it doesn't roll. I do like watching other people bet money. Probably because it's no risk on my part. Heh.
Also, I like how Drew comes into frame at the last bit of the video. I feel like he could get away with "Hey guys, I'm back from Korea, no big deal."

I want to say ~$130 but it being a two parter may drop it off some
Yup, you've just about got it. The most Harry Potter has made over a 3 day period is $107 million with the last film. New Moon and even Eclipse have done better. Still, this is the first blockbuster in a while and the beginning of the end for the series, so it'll definitely take the midnight opening crown, might top opening day crown but it'll probably open to somewhere around $125-130 million max. It'll break $300 million domestic (probably around $320-330 million) when all said and done and it could be the fourth film this year (after Avatar, Toy Story 3 and Alice in Wonderland) to make over $1 billion worldwide in ticket sales." 125 and part 2 beating Dark Knight "
Actual bet? Fine, put me down for $126.8 million for the three-day period.
I'm saying $125mill.
and way to be indecisive Norm. Indecisiveness always wins. I think it does.. does it?
I'm saying $130 million, but part two will make closer to $150 million based on the fact that it will be the absolute last Potter film and everyone will want to be apart of the event. I'm also planning to see this movie twice this opening weekend, so if enough people are as retarded as I am, this movie will make some CASH.

Why are you all going so high when the last two films in the series both made $77 million opening weekend? Only one of the films ever made more than $100 million on its first weekend and this film has a number of factors working against it.
It is part 1 of a 2 parter. It isn't in 3D and the time between its release and the last film is the shortest for the series which doesn't allow for as great a build up.
I say $115 million too.
