ReTarDedFisHy never used LimeWire anyway. But he did know a bunch of people that relied on it for nearly every single thing you can think of. Sucks to be them, then? ReTarDedFisHy wonders what those people will use now instead of LimeWire. Torrents? Warez?
Limewires shutting down
Here's a nice idea. Stop pirating. Fuckin a. I'm not gonna pretend I've never pirated before, but I stopped a long time ago. Music's really not that expensive, especially if you buy from emusic or amazon. How about we support the artists that work their asses off creating music we like? Makes sense to me.
It's been a good five years or so since I, or anyone I know, stopped using LimeWire. I always thought it just died out like WinMX.
LimeWire shutting down doesn't worry any of you about internet censorship?

"I'm going to say most people who pirate are the in the same age range you were when you were pirating, which probably means they don't have the money, or the job to buy stuff. I know I did most of my music pirating when I was a broke ass 15 year old, discovering a shit ton of awesome music. Now that I do have money I buy music, go to concerts, buy shirts and do all that lovely stuff. I know prating still isn't right, but I'd be in a different spot without it, so I never really lambaste it.
so what took them so long to take that down? i stopped using limewire a long time ago, like after my first virus. i'm surprised they are in trouble now because limewire is pretty damn old. torrents are the way to go now. piratebay is in trouble right now for copy right in-fragments.
" People still use Limewire? "I downloaded it recently, just for old time's sake. Not a lot of people seeding; the "community" has gone to shit. Congratulations, RIAA - you won the battle. Your opponent consisted of a desecrated corpse, but a battle nonetheless.

It kinda sucks for me as I've used LimeWire for years. It might not have been the best P2P program but it did it's job, I guess a court order was gonna happen sooner or later. I still won't be paying for music so I guess I'll be looking elsewhere.

Ah, I remember my youth. The slow... slow fruits of my P2P childhood, all the sweeter for their slowness. And all the more tender for their terrible quality.
Wait, what? Limewire sucked. Also, my youth apparently sucked. Thanks a lot, Limewire. Thanks for ruining everything.
" People still use Limewire? "This. I stopped using it like 6 years ago? It is amazing how much I see it on peoples desktops at school. Man, haven't you heard of torrents?
Limewire users are the same people who buy every iteration of every Apple product at launch - the ones who email you shitty jokes multiple times a day in pink, all-caps Comic Sans. The ones who type important documents in fucking Notepad.
Basically, fuck Limewire and anyone who's ever used it after 2001.
