Looking at YouTube's Most Viewed Videos of All Time makes me sad

Today I stumbled on YouTube's Most Viewed Videos of All Time page on my iPad and my heart sank. Charlie bit my finger? Hahaha (I'm not laughing, that's the name of a video)? Tootin bathtub baby cousins? Pregnancy booster clomid? Potter puppet pals?

 I started RDR again. It's been almost a full year since the last time I've touched it and man, I forgot how great it was. This time I'm spending a lot more time doing sidequests and generally just exploring the surroundings. Some of the stranger quests are truly excellent (like that one where you meet the guy in the suit on a cliff and he acts like he knows you) and I'm having a blast looking for buried treasure. I'm amazed at how much detail there is in the world once you start paying attention. 

I can't wait to wrap it up properly this time (damn ending credits got me good last time) and then jump into Undead Nightmare.

Drudging through the Most Viewed tab of Youtube is a silly endeavour. I used to watch the top videos of each day when I couldn't sleep at night, and it just made me really sad. Also, I was thinking about going through Red Dead again, but I refuse to go back to Undead Nightmare, even though I haven't beat it. I don't know why, but it really rubbed me the wrong way and put a sour taste in my mouth about the whole game.

Rockstar must have put something in the water because last week I couldn't stop thinking about re-playing Red Dead and now I am and it's fucking awesome all over again.

People like cute things, which is why videos of puppies and kitties get an amazing amount of views.

Some days, I remove my crown from my head and just look at it. I look at it and know the power that lies within it, and that I am the only person able to harness its powers. I know that such raw power would be more than enough to wipe out all of humanity once and for all. I look at my crown, knowing this, and wonder I just don't fucking do it. These videos only fuel those flames.

I like Charlie Bit Me, and Potter Puppet Pals. Ain't nothing wrong with clean humor. It's not the funniest thing out there, but it is the broadest stroke, and that's why they're so popular. Besides, why do you care what other people like?

What shocked me was the fact that Justin Bieber's "Baby" is #1, but not because it's at #1. It's because it's at #1 with Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" behind it with over 150,000,000 views ahead of her. I mean, that's over 9000 man. Fucking nuts!

Potter Puppet Pals is good, and also NeilC is like internet Jesus.

I hate how Vevo just dominates that entire list. And fills it with lousy music. Although, not like Party in the USA is much better [oh wait, it's worse.]...

I'm not sure I could play Red Dead Redemption again. It was a great game, but I saw everything I wanted to see in that game.

Whats the big deal? People have probably spent more time in their lives picking their nose than watching the most viewed video on youtube and you wouldn't complain about how that makes you weep for humanity. Who are you, or I to decide if something is a waste of time? I can guarantee some of the greatest minds of our time would tell you that YOU are wasting your time playing video games. Getting bent out of shape over something like this seems silly in comparison to the atrocities that happen every day that the majority of humanity does not care about. People do things you will find pointless in life. Deal with it.

Vevo is shit for pre-video ads, and I make a point of not watching Vevo as much as I can. Luckily, my favorite artists belong to an independent studio that DOESN'T sacrifice its integrity for a little extra cash, and their videos come without ads.
