Mass disposal of CD-r/DVD-r

So I'm super anal about disposal of ALL information that I no longer need and I'm just wondering if any of you have any tricks aside from big ass magnets or a disc smashing session. I've got around 200 discs I need to wipe and I'd rather not destroy one at a time Thanks

Need to rent yourself a woodchipper.

Get yourself a decent shredder. Most have a slot specifically for discs. I know you don't want to do it one at a time, but that's the only efficient way. If you don't mind cancer, you could set them on fire. Perhaps find a spindle, set them in there and turn it side ways, then with a hammer, have at it.

I am kind of curious how you have so many discs. Perhaps you should invest in a flash drive for all of $20 and get TrueCrypt (free) to encrypt it. I carry one on my key ring. I haven't had to burn a disc in almost 2 years.

I shoot mine, they make great targets.

This is pretty simple, it just depends on whether you want a creative way to do it or not. If you do, I recommend the microwave thing as previously said. However, a fire will work just fine.

Put them in the bin, then garbage men come and collect it and dump it all in a landfill never to be seen again. What? You think someone's gonna take random discs from the trash and try to see what is on them or something? Come on now..

You would be surprised, lots of identities get stolen through garbage.

@soul101: Are they originals or home made? I know amazon has a trade program for cd's.

This is the proper way to dispose of anything.

Drill a hole in the centre of all of them with a long drill.

Microwave them a few at a time for a couple of seconds and see if you can find somewhere that will recycle them.
