@SeriouslyNow:  Pagans worship pan?  Maybe in some cases they did, but Pagan was a generic term, sort of like... saracen.  it doesn't identify any specific set of  beliefs.  In some medieval texts even Muslims were called pagans, though possibly this was through ignorance and even a medieval mind would not identify Muslims as pagans if correctly informed.

What was the other thing - oh yeah. Richard the Lionheart responsible for the association of Christianity with tyranny?  I think you might be trying to think of the Inquisition - and what's more, the Anglican church didn't exist during Richard's time.  It wasn't founded until Henry VIII.

@SpikeSpiegel: My belifs are exactly the same as every conspiracy theorist in the world about the new world order. No more no less, so your just generalizing and your just butt hurt over that mac thread the other day because of my comments.
I mean if wiki practically states everything I researched in such organised detail http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_World_Order_(conspiracy_theory

"
Pagan became a generic catch-all much later.  Pagans worshiped Pan.  He was not their only god, Paganism has multiple deities, but he was central to their belief system and how it related to the natural world.  Also, in terms of religious and cultural changes brought on by the rise of Christianity, Pan was specifically referenced as dying or being killed by Christ, something Plutarch made great mention of.  Pagans did indeed identify specific beliefs and especially riuals (especially those of the Solstices), or at least they used to when it was a functioning set of religions referencing different deities.  Pagan started to become a catch-all when Christianity started besmirching it as a sacreligious context of the non-pious, which is why in the middle ages it, as you say, got misused to even describe Muslims.   During the Middle Ages very few minds were correctly informed if at all.  Education and life expectancy were both at an all time low.

Richard the Lionheart annexed the church at the end of the Third Crusade where he massacred the Saracens.  There's a difference between making people fear "pagans" and muslim expansionism and actually killing people who didn't want to be in the church.  No I'm not thinking of the Inquisition. I didn't say he formed the Anglican Union, I merely referred to them later on in their context of pushing the idea that pagans were bad people and directly tied to the Devil.

@HitmanAgent47: There's an irony to the fact that you linked to that wikipedia page. The Illuminate section is incredibly short and doesn't support anything you have to say. In fact the account of events that wikipedia suggests is that the original illuminati group fell prey to anti democratic sentiments at the time. Also I would like to note the criticism section of that page is probably worth a visit.
All this being said I will reiterate my previous request for a cogent, well thought out, well cited proof of the illuminati. The prevalence of of symbolism off of our money in a pop culture which deifies the dollar, and triangles which are a god damned common easily used shape, hardly proves anything.I hate to be the one screaming at this from a semi-foundationalist point of view, but please start from the beginning and build up from there as to why the existence of the illuminati in the form you discuss is proven well enough to be considered fact. I'd be more than willing to engage in discourse on the issue as I'm sure many others would as well but you literally provide no  basis for a discussion.

@HitmanAgent47:
For as long as societies have existed, secret societies have also existed, and we can be sure that there is at least one group out there who've ran with the old "illuminati" label. It's also reasonable to assume that the purpose of such a group is to gain power and to manipulate a broader society to whatever standards they deem worthy of striving towards.
Take the show Survivor for example: The first thing people do when put into big groups is to make small, secret groups in order to gain power and security. It's in our nature to behave like that. But to assume it's so all-encompassing, insidious and well-organized it quite a leap, no matter how many triangles you've noticed. And to say it's all to fulfill some God vs. Satan stuff (in the literal sense) is flat-out loopy, and only serves to discredit any evidence you could drum up against any such organization.

Symbols have always, will always have power, and will always be an effective, esoteric way to share information not intended for everyone. But what those symbols mean to different people, or different groups is far too broad and chaotic to make sense of, and you will go crazy if you let it continue to make you this paranoid.
Just let it be a hobby. Don't turn it into a crusade. You'll be the one to lose in the end. Not to mention most people (as exhibited in this thread) will be more likely to feel the further the opposite of how you do by virtue of the depths you've sunk to in order come to the conclusions you've come to.

...

As a gift, here are the closing shots of Spirited Away... Is Miyazaki is a Satan worshiper? Is Spirited Away advertizing for the Illuminati?
It's a fable about hard work and facing ones fears. That doesn't seem too insidious to me.

@beej: some collegiate fraternities (Skull and Bones), gentlemen's clubs ( Bohemian Club) and think tanks ( Council on Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission) of the American upper class are front organizations of the Illuminati, which they accuse of plotting to create a New World Order through a one-world government.

Every single one of these things listed under illuminati is important. While the paragraph is short, I mentioned all these groups I underlined earlier and they all have their own page. These groups goes under the name illuminati. So does free masons and everything under the Postulated implementations section. Don't worry most of the time when I read your post, your totally uninformed about these sort of conspiracy topics or anything that's religion related. The thing you missed is the word new world order that I said many times in this thread, that's their ultimate goal and the whole article is their goal, a one world government, one world currency, one world religion. I can't say it any clearer than that. That lines up with what i'm trying to say and those are the major players. So far you haven't countered anything I said by the paragraph I already wrote below that's quoted.

Edit to sound nicer: See this was on the second page, it lines up perfectly with what I said.  Of course they didn't put haliburton, they missed that. However I forgot to write bilderburg group, they are all part of the illuminati. Skull and bones, lots of presidents are part of that occultist group that does demonic rituals. You can find leaked videos, they don't really show that much. The bohemian groove or club as I mentioned has worship festivals worshipping an owl, another logo I posted on the dollar bill. The all seeing owl, just like the all seeing eye of that illuminati logo. Council on foreign relations, is more like an international policy behind the scenes organisation. This is the sub group barack obama and hillary clinton are part of. Trilateral commisions which henri kissenger is part of and haliburton are a bunch of rich bankers or lobbist I think. I can't remember, they are more behind the scenes compared to the rest. I guess not all of them openly promotes devil worship, however is interested in a new world order.

Criticisms

The John Birch Society believes that the Trilateral Commission is dedicated to the formation of one world government. Conservative Democratic congressman from Georgia and second head of the John Birch Society, Larry McDonald, introduced American Legion National Convention Resolution 773 to the House of Representatives calling for a congressional investigation into the Trilateral Commission.

Certain critics, such as Alex Jones, an American paleoconservative of "The Obama Deception" documentary, claim the "Commission constitutes a conspiracy seeking to gain control of the U.S. Government to create a new world order."

Then you have the free masons, who are the videos of those handshakes and illuminati logos i'm talking about for music videos. These are probally the ppl jay-z is connected to, they are usually the loudest in their occult symbolism. There is a whole section about them. If you can't see the connection, or understand anything i'm saying, then why are you always replying asking me really ignorant questions about this topic? Sure not everyone studies it like I do, however you probally know less than everyone else here combined by all the replies I get from you.

There are alot of sub organisations connected to this term. Such as CFR (center of foreign relations), haliburton, tri lateral commisions, free mason, skull and bones, ect.     "

I was talking about triangles with an eye, did you even look up the logo? I know you might not have religious belifs or your anti religion, I am not here to change your mind, your mind is already made up.  You don't interpret every other logo in the world with your own views, that's not what logos are for, they aren't some sort of abstract art, they have a purpose.

Also for beej I also posted alot of triangle stuff like this, found on the wiki page. Lots of stuff are related to what i'm saying.

I also want to add that page I posted earlier relates to the new world order so the topics might be outlined towards that. There are other pages called list of conspiracy theories that might line up with what i'm saying about the federal reserve which I mentioned was no more federal than the federal express. Let's look up what this page has to say? I did talk about their goals of a one world currency and a one world government, it's elaborated here better. I can't depend on one wiki page to say everything. I hope that clears up some of the misconceptions from ppl who really never heard this before or even know a single bible verse.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_conspiracy_theories

I've also talked about how this dollar bill with the illuminati logos on it is shows they knew about 9/11 and it was an inside job. Look if  the NWO page couldn't say everything I am trying to say, then this page also speaks about what i'm trying to say about the illuminati, or the new world order.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9/11_conspiracy_theories#Other_theories     '

Also remember one more thing, illuminati is a term that means these organisations listed in an earlier post. It's sort of like an umbrella name for many organisations. It's not the same as the old barvarian illuminati, however for the sake of mentioning a ton of different group names, or new world order. It's easier and more reconisable to just call them illuminati. Regardless, they all share the same goal, all these sub organisations of a one world governement, one religion (luciferian) and also a one world currency. If they have the same goals, they are just called illuminati, they are here to bring about the end of the world, the end times as you probally never heard from the bible, or a new world order.

New World Order

Main article: New World Order (conspiracy)

This conspiracy theory states that a small group of international elites controls and manipulates governments, industry, and media organizations worldwide. The primary tool they use to dominate nations is the system of central banking. They are said to have funded and in some cases caused most of the major wars of the last 200 years, carry out false flag attacks to manipulate populations into supporting them, and they have a grip on the world economy, deliberately causing inflation and depressions at will. Operatives working for the New World Order are said to be placed in high positions in government and industry. The people behind the New World Order are thought to be international bankers, in particular the owners of the private banks in the Federal Reserve System and other central banks, and members of the Council on Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission and Bilderberg Group. The New World Order is also said to control supranational and global organizations such as the European Union, United Nations, World Bank, International Monetary Fund and the proposed North American Union. The term gained popularity following its use in the early 1990s, first by President George H. W. Bush when he referred to his "dream of a New World Order" in his speech to the United States Congress on September 11, 1990, and second by David Rockefeller in a statement to the United Nations Business Council in September 1994, sometimes cited as evidence that the New World Order had a motive for carrying out the September 11, 2001 attacks:

"We are on the verge of a global transformation. All we need is the right major crisis and the nations will accept the New World Order."

The concept of this shadow government predates 1990; it is accused of being the same group of people who, among other things, created the Federal Reserve Act (1913), supported the Bolshevik Revolution (1917), and supported the rise of the Nazi Party in Germany, all for their own agenda. The World Bank and national central banks are said to be the tools of the New World Order; war generates massive profits for central banks because government spending (hence borrowing at interest from the central banks) increases dramatically in times of war. Many conspiracy theorists believe that Denver International Airport is the western U.S. headquarters of the New World Order, and a massive underground base and city is believed to exist underneath the airport. Reasons for this include the airport's unusually large size (larger than some major cities), distance from the Denver, Colorado city center, and the set of bizarre murals depicting burning cities, gas-mask wearing soldiers, girls in coffins, Masonic symbols and strange writing. It is believed that secret fleets of black helicopters are ready to take control when the New World Order is set up.

[ edit] Federal Reserve System

The New World Order is said to control the wealth of nations through central banks, via the issuance of currency. The Federal Reserve System is the central bank of the United States, though not a part of the government, created in 1913. There is a theory that the Federal Reserve System is designed to transfer wealth from the poor and middle classes of the United States to the international bankers of the New World Order.

(I also mentioned this in my earlier post, it's more complete of what i've been trying to say, it takes like a few wiki pages to make my point)

World Trade Center collapse

Main article: World Trade Center controlled demolition conspiracy theories

The controlled demolition conspiracy theories claim that the collapse of the North Tower, South Tower and 7 World Trade Center was not caused by the plane crash damage, or by resulting fire damage, but by explosives installed in the buildings in advance. The reasoning behind this explained that if the US Government had planted explosives in the building but made it look like terrorists had done the damage, it would have given them a perfect excuse to go to war in Iraq.

@dudeglove: That's a really good question. Here are some interesting things I found. I took this screenshot of gta 4 and there is some illuminati logos all over this guy's laptop your suppose to look into for that government agent guy in the game. This was on his desktop in the game. I'm not saying rockstar is in on it. However they made a reference to it. I also noticed a few perks in modern warfare 2 had the same logo, same with the newest civilization game when you take over stuff. I have to find a screenshot. Right now i'm practically typing and sleep walking, so your talking to my subconcious brain. Assassin's creed's logo is the freemason's logo. Well back to sleep, i'm going to hate myself for being so tired tommorrow.

That desktop in Grand Theft Auto is making fun of conspiracy theorist who are so deep in shit that they don't know the difference between truth and fairy tale. GTA makes fun of everyone.

If you want to inform and enlighten the blind, you don't get on a soap box and call them ignorant, or evil. You build rapport with people, because there was a time when you were misinformed as well. People don't take kindly to individuals who forcefully shove their non-religious/religious beliefs down their throats, there's so much tension when religion is bought up because no one is willing to have a discussion without resorting to petty name calling.

If these secret societies do exist (anything is possible) then they also rely on abrasive and inconsiderate religious figures to stray people away from the "truth". Somewhere in the Bible it say to come as you are, meaning no one except for God will judge you (what you're wearing, your faults etc.). Many religious people don't take the time to patiently and politely explain themselves, they go on rants, telling people they're evil back stabbers. No one is going to take you seriously if you're judging people and refusing to be personable.

@Axxol: if your talking to me, I don't care. They insult me, attack religion and attack my opinions when they won't even look up the illuminati logo, they are asking for me to counter their insults. It's not something they will understand, I know you had a background in religion, most of these ppl do not.

Here is lucas arts, that's clearly an eye, the body makes a pyramid. Now try to say that's making fun of conspiracy theorist. Trust me with beej, he sends me like a dozen post a week and it seems like he never even took a few seconds to google before he counters my religious points. Especially about the occult, he just writes a bunch of words that really doesn't click with me. So if that's a dozen post a week, imagine a month. I get alot of replies that just is uninformed. They judged me unfairly, they will be judged the same.

Matthew 7:1-2
Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

Matthew 7:6 "Never give what is holy to dogs or throw your pearls before pigs. Otherwise, they will trample them with their feet."  (which means do not throw pearls of wisdom to pigs, or they will ignore it and insult you, or course I mean no disrespect, however I felt I was unfairly judged for those two post, they dismissed everything I said, called me a liar saying I never said that when I did and I get a dozen replies a month that really says nothing. How do I reply to that?

@Axxol: fair enough, I hope you know, I just don't like being unfairly judged by ppl who are anti religious. I'm just saying religion does play a part in this whole end times, NWO illuminati thing in the bible. The last chapter is practically their ultimate goal, so it should at least be mentioned and not attacked. I already explained the whole backstabber thing, for an event a few months ago with other pc gamers. That's just unfairly blaming me when the other guy's language was insultive first with two post full of insults from hostile agressive behavior. You shouldn't judge unless you knew what went down at the time in the past. Religion is such a topic ppl are too emotional about, with hatred and distain. Which is unfortunate because you talk about jay Z being an evil illuminati, it should be part of the topic. I ask others to not attack any spirtual stuff in this thread, I say it's totally part of the conspiracy. Unless we can ignore that and stay on details, I don't do this to suit you belif system. They shouldn't limit mine either. I am not here to change anyone's mind, however it's great ppl gets a better idea of this symbol and now they can see it at many different media places. Hopefully there will be less insults from now on, if they insult religion again, maybe i'll try to ignore it.

@HitmanAgent47: I understand what you're trying to do. But, resorting to name calling only gets people to avoid you out of spite.

Like you said, people are too emotional when religion is brought up, I'm just saying that we should all chill out. There is a great lack of respect of opinions. Arguing back and forth won't help anyone, it actually widens the gap between the non-religious and religious. Maybe these secret societies want  arguments like this to spring up in an attempt to deter people from the truth.

@Axxol: Well i'll try to be respectful from now on and if they bring up something that's a misconception. I'll just try to correct them from what I understand. Well it's not a topic everyone really knows unless i'm mentioning it. I mean even months ago I didn't really belive into this stuff until I start connecting the dots. Here is another video I found with the triangle reference from some satanist cult in max payne. Also here is one for modern warfare 2, it's unmistakable.

@SeriouslyNow:
I'm sure there's something to your belief that pan was a primary pagan deity, but my cursory research (on Wikipedia) did not support your claim.  It claimed:  " Paganism (from Latin paganus, meaning "country dweller", "rustic") is a blanket term, typically used to refer to polytheisticreligious traditions, although from a Christian perspective, the term can encompass all non–Abrahamic religions.

And regarding Richard, the INquisition certainly killed people who didn't want to be in the church, as did the first crusade (1099).  I can't see really how Richard I could be accused of this in particular.   The only mention of something similar is the massacre of Jews upon his coronation - something he might have indirectly had a hand in starting, but punished once it had gone too far (not out of the goodness of his heart, of course).  As far as annexing the church,i don't know what you mean by that.  there was no Anglican church, as I said, and it wasn't Richard who seized church possessions as property of the crown.
I'd appreciate it if your reply included mention of your own sources.  I recognize Wikipedia is not the be all, end all of academic research, but I'm not going to wander around in the dark of the internet if you have the answers.

@Gargantuan:
copy/paste from another site
heh, funny.

Also,
I laugh at all the ppl trying to make sense with Hitman, it's an impossibility, we will discover Nuclear Fusion before he has his mind changed by someone other than himself.

To think I once respected that man.  Now he is just trying to get attention, since his day in the sun is over.  I bet he sleeps with parachute pants on.

Oh please it's easy to make-up Illuminati conspiracy's. For instance: On the Fourth of July I get hot dogs from the local Freemasons, does this mean that my body is now coated in Illuminati mind control devices hidden in amongst the question mark meat of the hot dogs? No, but don't tell Dan Brown.

@seitanic: The eye needs to be inside a triangle, or it's just an eye.

How I love watching people struggle with Hitman. He is - based on pure entertainment value - an asset to this site.

@EuanDewar: How about no EuanDewar, you can't just change things the way it is. Maybe two eyes on an owl, sure, however not on the illuminati pyramid.

Have you noticed though that the circle is kinda pyramid shaped, like a circular pyramid seen from above.
