I been in college for a few years now, and I was just wondering what peoples least favorite essay has been in their life. As of right now, mine is a 6 page essay with 11pt font about Intimate Partner Violence.

I know people have harder essays than this, just curious what your most annoying essay is.

I did a paper on euthanasia, but the professor said it wasn't a quality paper, because I contradicted myself a lot. So I redid the paper by writing about legalization of Marijuana instead and put a whole lot of bull in it, and it turned out to be a good paper from an English standpoint... It had to be at least 12 pages long, so I did it!

I had to do a 12 page essay on "Bullitt" the movie, defining what camera techniques they used. And sound, lighting, etc. Every two seconds was like 4 paragraphs.

I did a fantastic essay on using human fat as a renewable fuel source, creating fat farms, etc. Teacher refused to mark it :(

I had to write a 12 page essay on Norwegian literature. I delayed doing it until the day before. Man, that day was brutal.

10 page term paper on a degenerative brain disease. I left most of it until the night before it was due. That was a bad idea.

High school English, we did a study of Levi's adverts from the late '80s / early '90s (e.g. the laundrette et al).

As if analysing an advertising campaign from the previous decade for a GCSE subject wasn't bad enough, the teacher wanted us to dedicate a section of our essay to the American Dream (not Dusty Rhodes). Now, just what a group of British schoolchildren were supposed to garner about the founding philosophies of another country purely by watching a bunch of jeans ads was I'm not so sure, but after numerous rewrites that met with only disapproving looks from the genius that came up with this assignment, I deliberately dropped my grade to a C just so I wouldn't have to deal with it anymore.

I cannot understand that mentality. As soon as I got assignments, I'd get to them as soon as possible and leave a shitload of time for every other assignment I'd get.

The most noticable one is a short analytical essay of "The Merchant of Venice" I had to write. The essay in on itself wasn't the hardest assignment. But I had this GENIUS idea of just plain never doing it, because it was boring and tedious. Then I got like, 8 chances to redeem myself but stubbornly never did it anyways...

Now it stands as a trophy, symbolizing my awful, awful attitude and fucking terrible sense of duty. It's basically a recurring mark of shame that spits my ever so slightly less ignorant self in the face. No one wants to see their bad side so openly. But hey, maybe I learned something from the whole thing.

I fucking hate that play just because of a stupid assignment. Which is sad, because Al Pacino does a pretty good Shylock.

@video_game_king: I tend to wait as well. My essay I did most a week before it was due and finished the night before. Finding time and straight up not wanting to do it got in the way.

Some people just work better under pressure. I do most of the time. I had a PowerPoint presentation due at the end of my psych summer class that we knew about from day one. I did the entire thing the day before it was due and got a 100. As long as I keep my ideas for the assignment fresh in my head, I can usually write them all out pretty quickly.

Yep. Exactly how I feel.
