Quite simply, I really like the song Dead Man's Gun from the Red Dead Redemption soundtrack, and I want more music like it. So if anyone has some suggestions, I'd really appreciate it.

For those who haven't heard the song yet, here's some Youtube magic!

I cannot recommend any music to you... but maybe you could try and plug that into pandora radio and see what it plays. Just a thought.

Very good idea, i have something though, maybe its what you want, maybe not. It has some similar elements to that sorta song albeit with a much different tone.  Im really reccomending it because its the only song on my Ipod with a hint of "Western" in it.

It reminds me of Mother by Pink Floyd. Not in lyrics, but in sound.

 This song reminds me of Red Dead Redemption. Take it or leave it.

How about the other tracks on the Red Dead OST?

I personally really like "Far Away" and "Compass" as well as the one you originally mentioned.

Sun Kil Moon

If you've seen the Gears of War 3 Debut trailer you've heard one of their songs, but it's a lot better in its full version:

Try to listen to some of their other stuff as well.
It's awesome.

The first song that came to mind was The Wrestler by Bruce Springsteen.

Well if its a western related song you want, this movie is absolutely outstanding but this song and the scene it plays over is even more so.

@Mattzz10: Just tried pandora, but since I'm not from the US I can't use it. Are there any other websites like it?

@habster3:
 First: I didn't say I wanted music like the soundtrack, I said I wanted music like that song; second: yes, really

"The Sadies" have a very unique western-folk sound that you may like.

I don't know if last.fm gives music recommendations, but that site has always been good to me before.  And I also like to recommend a local band from Pittsburgh that I think should have been bigger.  They are called "The Clarks"  And their older stuff is better than their new album. Personal favorite is "born too late"
