Well new Futurama episodes aired on Thursday, and can i say they sucked horribly. They felt more like family guy, and American dad with their short story format. I always liked Futurama cause it had a loose over arching plot line, or at least timeline. The first new season was more bearable, it still had more elements from the original run, Never thought I'd say this, but i think Futurama should just die a dignified death.
New Futurama Season
Huh? I thought they were OK. I'm just horrified that even after Fry and Leela switched genders, they could still work as a couple.
They were ok. Not the best but they didn't suck. Wilfred and Louie aired at the same time and those shows were both fantastic.
I thought the same thing after the first 2 episodes last season, but then it got better. Way better. There were two or three episodes last season that I think hold up well against some of the best of the older episodes. I think it's a little premature to be calling for the death of the show because there were two episodes you didn't like. And technically, this isn't even a new season. Season 6 is 26 episodes spread out over 2 years, for reasons I don't quite understand.
I thought the first episode last night was decent enough, but I really liked the second one.
I wasn't too impressed with the latest two episodes. The first one was good, but I also felt that I've seen that episode before (it kind of reminded me of the Star Trek episode). And the second one never clicked with me. I didn't really find it funny or that entertaining. Oh well. I'm sure the later ones will be better.
I thought the first one was just okay, but I laughed quite a few times during the second one. Similar to the first two episodes from the beginning of the current season, the first one felt like it needed to do too much. It needed to get all the characters in there to remind people of the cast. The second was much more laid back and had some really funny lines from Bender. As was said above, from the previous 13 of the resurrected Futurama there are a number I'd place right along side the classics from its first run.
I wonder if because Family Guy went sour after a while following its return, some people are sort of hoping the same thing happens to Futurama. Either that or they want to get out a head of the curve and hate it now so they can say they hated it when it was new. Internet motivations are hard to predict sometimes.
