So they are replacing Edward Norton (Who played Bruce Banner, AkA the Hulk in "The Incredible Hulk" in the upcoming Avengers Movie.
..

That's Edward Norton, for you people won only know people by their movie names

Seriously, he was way cooler than Eric Banana...or...Bana...something...
Seriously, he was way cooler than Eric Banana...or...Bana...something...

So now there is a rumor that this guy ( Mark Ruffalo ) Is in the talks to play the next Bruce Banner. I honestly don't ........they should pick some one else. CGI Hulk would not look Epic.

SO what Movie Viral Says:

Last week we mentioned that Edward Norton wasn’t coming back as the Hulk in The Avengers. Although Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and Norton’s agent had a war of words, Norton himself stayed above the fray and just issued a statement confirming the news and thanking his fans. The next day the rumors already started, as Mark Ruffalo is rumored to be in talks to play Dr. Banner.

There was a lot of buzz about pictures this week, topping off with the first look at the Green Lantern suit and two new photos from Thor. See the gallery below. This week we also saw first photos from the Paul Bettany-starring Priest and Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch

Another question, The guy who plays the flaming torch plays as Captain America? He could pull it off, but they need someone older. Someone new for the spider-man reboot that we have never heard of? And .... "Beat it" At the E3? There is some peculiar things going on. Anyway, so tell me what you guys think.

Because personally they should've kept Edward Norton

This was also my first ever attempt at a more professional topic. So tell me how I did guys

Edward Norton is overrated if people actually think he was good in that one Hulk movie.
That movie, down to the acting, was a pos. So I couldn't care less who they actually cast for the next Hulk since it doesn't seem like they can keep the actors for the next one anyway.

And, you did well on your more "professional topic".
good job

I have absolutely no hope for the Avengers movie anyway, so not having Ed Norton doesn't change anything.  In fact, it kind of makes me glad that there's not something I could possibly latch onto as a redeeming feature.

There is nothing wrong with Eric Bana, it was just a terrible movie. He is a great actor, just as good as Edward Norton. Fanboys, shusht.

No offence, but it's the fucking Hulk.
They could put anyone as Bruce Banner. It's not like he's that great and hard of a character to play anyways.
Most people go to see the Hulk to... well, see the Hulk.

Mel Gibson is the correct choice.

If any of you have listened to his phone tapes you know that guy rages more than The Hulk.

I'm not sure how I feel about Norton being out. I liked the idea of him playing Banner, he looked the part. But the movie wasnt exactly great, so hopefully whoever is cast next works better.

Whats so bad about Mark Ruffalo? Hes like Gary Oldman in that he always looks so different and plays parts so well you don't realise its him. Or at least I don't.

Norton essentially wants final cut which is unrealistic for a movie of this scope.

Bana, Norton, Phoenix, and Ruffalo are all over-qualified to play the part anyways.

As long as they don't bring out some unknown who has to compete with the likes of Downey / Jackson.

o, o well on that. i don't really care for the hulk because it was a while ago that the movie came out. i don't really like when movies have sequels after sequels, like spiderman. i think they should have just left it alone after the 3rd one came out. the 3rd one wasn't even that good compared to the first one.

I didn't see the last Hulk movie, but from the trailers, I didn't really like Norton (his voice sounded too high pitched and whiny). I think for the next one they should either go back to Eric Bana, go WAY back to Bill Bixby (who is probably way too old), or just have him be the Hulk the whole time, thus eliminating the need for an actor.

He's already proven himself as a good actor.  That movie was just poor, and I don't think his acting had anything to do with it.  He's still just an actor, so they tell him what to say and how to say it, and if the character was written poorly then the actor is screwed.

Anyway, they're idiots.  They freaking had Edward Norton and they decide to ditch him, and call him out publicly with negative feedback?  Why would anyone get rid of Edward Norton from their movie?  Especially when he already played as the Hulk before.

First off, good job with your thread. Second, Edward Norton is a good actor, maybe the Hulk wasn't the best role for him but he's more believable than this Ruffalo douche bag. The idea of an Avenger's movie is cool, but I think Hollywood's going to turn this film into a giant clusterfuck. I hope the Spiderman reboot is good, and I hope it doesn't go the same route that Spiderman 3 went. I hate it when writers/directors stray away from the comics. The guy who played the Human Torch is not a perfect fit for Captain America. I think Matt Damon or Matthew Mchonahay (I butcheredhis name) are better picks. But who knows, maybe he'll surprise us or make us hate him even more.

While I like Norton, he has a reputation for being a giant prick and not working so well with others.

He tends to want a lot of creative control and I totally understand why. In most cases he has been completely correct in how he wants things done. I just can't see that kind of attitude working well with an ensemble cast.  It's a good choice in terms of avoiding drama that could potentially sink the movie but what remains to be seen is if it is a good choice overall.

1.) Edward Norton is a shitty actor who has never once made a good film in his life. They should cast my favorite actor from my favorite Indie movie nobody gives a shit about and has never seen.

2.) This sucks.  (My choice).

Man that blows, they are ruining all the good actors that played good superheroes. Like spiderman (who is that new kid anyway?) and i only brought the 2nd hulk that had ed in it cause well that was the better one. I hope Tony Stark can still make the  Avengers movie good.

Actually posting on topic, Edward Norton was bad in his Hulk move and besides Fight Club and maybe American History X, he's not especially fantastic. 25th Hour was great but Barry Pepper and Philip Seymour Hoffman were better than he was. Same with a lot of his films.

I vote going for some un-named actor. I find when ever a movie has a cast of well known actors I enjoy the movie less because no matter how good, or bad, the acting is I can never see anything but that actor and not the character he is trying to play. I realize finding talented actors for every new movie is unrealistic, but that's just how I feel about most movies I watch these days. Especially if it's an actor with a memorable role in a different film. I keep expecting them to be that person and not who ever they are trying to portray.

No, he wouldn't. The Hulk isn't all that interesting as a character to begin with. The last thing the Hulk needs is another phoned in performance from one of the most boring actors in Hollywood.
