I swear this will result in the world becoming a post apocalyptic waste land. If i get nuked because of
obama deciding to continue Americas 'we own the world' attitude there will be a lynching at hand...
Obama Tells Military To Be Prepared For War In Korea
Iraq is fine. Afghanistan has a problem with limited amounts of troop. Due to that, a lot of area can't be secured. Most Army units are one a 1 year home, 1 year deployed schedule. My guys got back two months ago, but we're set to leave June 2011 for Afghanistan. In terms of KIA, we have about 1 die a week in Iraq and 1-3 a day in Afghanistan." @EpicSteve: Since you're in the military, I guess it would be good to ask you - aren't we already having a problem with the amount of soldiers we have for Iraq and Afghanistan? "
This is such a good chance to post this documentary:
Free to watch online and a real eye-opener.In The Wounded Platoon, FRONTLINE investigates a single Fort Carson platoon of infantrymen -- the 3rd Platoon, Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry -- and finds, after a long journey, a group of young men changed by war and battling a range of psychiatric disorders that many blame for their violent and self-destructive behavior. Since returning from Iraq, three members of the 3rd Platoon have been convicted on murder or attempted murder charges; one has been jailed for drunk driving and another for assaulting his wife; and one has attempted suicide.
" This is such a good chance to post this documentary:You know we got mental therapy for soldiers, right? It's not like it's just 'OH HEY YOU FOUGHT OKAY GL ON YOUR OWN NOW'.

Sweet, lets wipe North Korea off the map
Now that the conservative (Or maybe thats more liberal?, i really shouldn't label these things, its too much of a gray area.) Republican side of me has had it's say let me point out that its unlikely Korea would be stupid enough to make any sort of real move, if anyones going to be the aggressor its going to be the South. Although if China says it will back up NK , im going to be drafted sometime next year.
" In no way will China or Russia back NK up if this war happens.. "
This may be true and is hopefully the case. However, if you look at editorial pages from 60 years ago you'll find many opinions that neither country would militarily intervene and yet we ended up fighting state of the art MiG jets piloted by Russians and faced human wave attacks from Chinese army soldiers that shoved US/UN/ROK forces all the way back from the Yalu down to the current DMZ (farther in many locations).
Does it seem unlikely at this time that china would attack its biggest trading partner? Yes. However, it would be unsurprising for them to see it as a chance to fully ascend to superpower status and/or use it as political leverage against us to force us to look the other way as they finally end the Taiwan issue.
About fucking time. Lets go take care of business. Thos sons of bitches have acted tough for too long thinking think can dick around with fake nuclear weapons and break a truce that they have with the south? We aint the ones that started this war, they are. And dont worry folks, in the nuclear arms department, north korea aint got shit. And whatever they do have, american will use what we got and wipe those communist bastards off the face of the planet.
" For you religious folk: This would mean a war against China as well, which the last prophecy in the Bible. I'm not a man of God, but that's strange. "I highly doubt China would. They have far too much stake in the current wold order that they're not about to risk military conflict for the sake of a neighboring country who has been so volatile that even they have been willing to at least exert some diplomatic pressure. The previous Korean War was a far different time and political environment.
Also, don't think the book of revelations actually says that...
I seem to have answered you in a private message so I'm sorry: Stop being stupid and actually the thing." @Detrian said:

Spoilers: Most your soldiers don't seek counseling because they are afraid they'll be seen as sissies and even with the few that do mental hospitals are swamped and can't handle all cases.
Idea - Get tons and tons of weed, light it up and air drop it all over North Korea, then follow up with Dorito's relief flights." @BraveFart said:
" Scary stuff. why can't they just turn some YMCA on and dance together in peace ? "Exactly. They should all just relax. "
" At least he did one thing right so far. "Fuck you.
No really, he's only done one thing so far? One thing? And where were you when Health Care happened? When he began closing Guantanamo Bay? When he became the first president to discuss an armistice with Russia? And I am listing some of the most significant ones here which cause an impact on the news overseas, by reading national newspapers I understand Obama has been thus far a great president.
But on-topic, I hate to say this, but it needs to be done, for several reasons, most of which have been pointed out by people before me.
Unless Kim is crazier than he appears (always a possibility) there's not really any chance of war. The NK forces are ill trained and equipped with cold war era crap. After watching the US totally vaporize the Iraqi forces in mere weeks I think the NK army would evaporate even faster. If SK does it investors will flee in droves. We'll just see increased surveillance and antisubmarine patrols. Also whatever isn't currently sanctioned on NK will probably be getting chopped soon.
I just wanted to make a smart-ass comment to the person who came in this thread soley to shit on america.
i apologize
" @Detrian: Thats a societal problem not a military problem, if dumb people dont want to goto therapy because its seen as "un-manly" behavior, thats their problem. You cant FORCE people to goto therapy. But on-topic, I hate to say this, but it needs to be done, for several reasons, most of which have been pointed out by people before me. "Yeah...that's not how it happens. Soldiers are refusing counseling explicitly because they fear they might seem weak in front of their comrades. You should give that a watch.
" @AlwaysAngry said:Not that I'm taking sides, but for people/famlies who make over $100,000/$200,000 a year...the Health Care Law is kinda shitty for us. But then again, the will of many overtake the will of those who aren't part of the many." At least he did one thing right so far. "Fuck you.

In case you need more explaining, I said that people refusing therapy because they will be seen as weak is a PROBLEM WITH SOCIETY, not exclusive to the military. Like that scene in sopranos where Tony dosent wanna goto Therapy because he is afraid the other mobsters will make fun of him for it. My point was, that you need to teach EVERYONE not just the military that going to therapy isnt "weak".
say a full on war does break out, does any one think it will go nuclear?
I'm not 100 percent on what North Korea apparently have or don't have. Or America for that matter.

Its like saying "we need to stop college students from becoming alcoholics"..when it really should be "we need to deter everyone from becoming alcoholics".
In the words of the fella from Avatar: "Let's just take this down a couple of notches, please".
But seriously, no nukes please.
" @Detrian: No, my point is that it cant be fixed by chastising the military for it, its not the military's fault. You were using it as a point to lambast the armed forces, which is not at all appropriate. I mean, if you were going to say , The military should do more to make sure the people picked to be soldiers are mentally stable beforehand, then i would let it pass. But you cant solely blame soldiers for something that is a problem with society as a whole. Its like saying "we need to stop college students from becoming alcoholics"..when it really should be "we need to deter everyone from becoming alcoholics". "Oh my god how can you be so stupid...soldiers are refusing counseling from their own military psychiatrics for post traumatic stress disorder. It's an exclusively military issue born from military BE STRONG mentality. Maybe if you stopped blindly trying to defend the pussies you call soldiers you would have actually seen a bit of that documentary instead of coming here and spouting your soap opera knowledge and chest thumping USA USA USA faggotry.

Anyway, that is not our fault, that is the soldier's fault. The therapy is there though. Are you to blame us for their decisions?
It's like not going to the doctor after finding out you have a sickness that will be fatal if not treated. Are we to blame the patient for not going to the doctor, or the doctor for...whatever reason you can think of. I'm sure you can find one.
Thank you for proving your stupidity to everyone in this thread
