Oh God are these really the most downloaded songs of all time ?
Fucking auto tuned pop shit !
Don't get me wrong some of the stuff i like ...but black eyed peas ? really ?
I guess this shows who uses itunes to download music . Fuck you Lady gaga and black eyed peas !
Just goes to show that people who pirate have superior taste in music. Suck it.
Pirates: 1
Paying Consumers: 0
Also, with the exception of Journey, I believe EVO is right in that all of these songs were released before 2007. Perhaps 2006 for a few of them but my memory may be deceiving me.
Those lists are total bullshit. Just like the Billboard charts. It's what they want you to buy (notice the buy all songs for 24.95?). There are independent chart lists around but they're hard to find these days.
OH AND FUCK YOU GAY FISH FOR RUINING A PERFECTLY GOOD DAFT PUNK TRACK.
That's iTunes for ya. Promoting ringtone artists instead of people with true talent.
For the record though, Lady GaGa's grown on me, Kayne's a douchebag but a fantastic rapper, T.I. is one of the best rappers out there, and everyone loves "Don't Stop Believing".
Everything else though is shiny, polished junk music ("Tik Tok"), bland work by artists who've done better in the past ("Use Somebody") or crap shot out by the worst group in the world the Black Eyed Peas.
Or "Hey There Delilah". I HATE that song so much. I would give my soul to the devil when I turn 27 if it meant that I would never, ever have to hear that song ever again.
BRING KRISS KROSS BACK !
haha but in all seriousness Das-EFX and De-la soul were amazing
I hate most popular music, but she is pretty cool. "sumthin, sumthin, sumthin, paparazzi!"
Woohoo! for Viva la vida!
For the rest, I have no words to describe the utterly negative feelings that I have for the songs by shit artists like Beyonce (I hate her song the most), Taylor swift, Miley cyrus, leona lewis etc.
(come to think of it, they're all female artists)
This sucks
I took a break from Googling for some info on a rare, potentially unreleased album from a group that has likely disbanded to read this post...and I am saddened.
Well duh. It's disposable pop music. That's what it's made to do, get airtime, and get downloads. Did you actually think the most downloaded songs would be by talented artists who write and create their own music? Those musicians usually put out entire albums, and not radio-friendly singles.
WAIT WAIT WAIT! SO YOU'RE TELLING ME THAT THE MAINSTREAM LISTENS TO MAINSTREAM MARKETED MUSIC??!?!?!? AND NOT THE STUFF THAT'S GOOD, BUT REALLY OBSCURE AND DIFFICULT TO FIND FOR THE PEOPLE WHO DON'T CARE/WANT TO???
SOME PEOPLE JUST LIKE CATCHY TRACKS ON THE RADIO!????? AND THEN BUY MAYBE JUST THAT ONE SONG!??!?
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!?
WE HAVE A BLACK PRESIDENT!?! THE GAYS ARE GETTING MARRIED!?!?!?
Yeah, how about no?
I just don't see the point of trashing a bunch of mainstream, marketed pop songs that sell well for being mainstream, marketed pop songs that sell well. If you don't like the songs, you don't have listen to them, buy them, or even be aware of them. But, to play Devil's Advocate for a minute: without manufactured pop the music industry wouldn't be stimulated enough for the independent labels to have any chance at all; it serves a purpose.
Lady Ga Ga can Fuck Off Off. Fair play to her selling shitty disco tracks to kids, but I'm getting really bored of people saying she's mad. It's just a marketing tool. Manyard james Keenan, Bjork, Tori Amos, Billy Corgan, they are mad. Can you imagine any of them singing poker face? Actually, no better not.
@jonnyboy: Billy Corgan could sing "Poker Face". It would probably be better than anything the Smashing Pumpkins have done in their entire career.
