Some ten years ago they used to show Sailor Moon on TV during the summer, i watched a whole bunch of that pretty much every day while eating breakfast. I don't think i would ever wath my little pony though, but you never know.
Oh man ... what have I done??
Good thing I ain't American then, fuck the rules!@TaliciaDragonsong said:
I've been liking stuff that's meant for boys all my life.I imagine that's because in American culture, it's more acceptable for women to be like men than it is for men to be like women. Underlying sexist principles and such, so on and so forth.
You have stared into the gaping maw of insanity and passed through it. You emerge from the other side alive, but not unharmed. The whispers of chaos still remain in your head, beckoning you forward with their false promises of redemption.
However, there is no savior for you now, you are lost to the world you once knew. Purge yourself of the darkness you have received to save the others.

I think he means seculde yourself to a stone tower in Siberia. I have to concur. Or join an Ardat-Yakshi-like camp.

MIGHT I RECOMMEND KORRA
I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS AS WELL.
Yeah, Korra is probably my favorite television show period right now, animated or not.
Eh, it's behind Young Justice for me.. but it's still pretty damn good and leagues above most other shows.

@Aetheldod: You are sliding into the abyss. A place you cannot escape. The Sarlacc is slowly pulling you further and further toward an eternity of ponies.
To be clear, you are not Boba Fett in this scenario. You're one of the clumsy guards with no backstory.
A worthy note indeed. Yes, he is the clumsy guard being drawn into an endless cavern of innocent joy.
My brother and I went through a phase when we were kids where we'd watch My Little pony secretly and wouldn't tell our friends. You've kind of made me want to watch it again. I have also watched and enjoyed Desperate House Wives. It's a pretty funny show. I also ended up watching most of Sex and the City this year with a couple of my house mates (one of them also being a guy); this included both movies. I must say I did enjoy most of it, eventually it does get a bit tedious though.
I watch Grey's Anatomy with the wife, and watched the first few seasons of Desperate Housewives. It's corny and predictable, but there's enough to like that I stick with it anyway.

meh, sailor moon is at least made for girls that aren't, like, 6. Sailor Moon is actually pretty dark and shit
Of course i say this as a person who is currently watching all of Sailor Moon because I literally have nothing else to do so yeah, but they totes kill off all of the other sailor soldiers in the second to last episode of the first series.
Tuxedo Mask samaaaaaa
Go right ahead and keep watching. I don't believe in gendering TV shows and movies and stuff like that- anyone has the right to enjoy anything.
My brother thinks MLP is alright (I can't tell whether he thinks it's annoying, but every so often actually finds a joke funny, or secretly loves it and is embarrassed to admit it), and my dad found Sex and The City enjoyable. But I suspect my dad thinks both S&TC is actually a parody of the genre...
Closest thing I got is the Buffy the vampire slayer series and btw how stoned were you when watching said show? lol

Okay, I've never seen an episode of My Little Pony Bronies. Could someone please explain to me what they hell is going on with that show and why everyone has a hard on for it?
Yeah, what is the appeal? Is it similar to something like Adventure Time? I always thought that show would have had the superior internet cult following since the humor is fairly in-line with the free-flowing insanity of the internet and it's jokes.
Maybe the exact reason that MLP's never appealed to me is that it lacks that absurdist style.
Threads like these always make me wonder if there are little girls out there who are acting the same way.
"Oh my gosh, you're a gamer? That is the worst possible thing. That's for old men!"
And guess what, there isn't. :|
I'm literally waiting until it's finished along with my exams. Then I'm gonna rewatch Aang and then watch Korra. My self-restraint is breaking every day.@Animasta said:

I do. It's absolutely incredible and follows on from Avatar amazingly well, without feeling at all like cloying fan-service.

Decided to see a Little Pony episode ... Im loving it and laughing and ... D: am I becoming a brony??? Help me duders . I put the blame on Celestia and Luna ... they are so cool looking , so on the same theme have you duders ever fell for a program aimed at gals/dudettes before? I´ll be honest I have too fallen for Sailor Moon (I saw the entire episodes , uncut and uncensored ) , Magic Knight Rayearth , and for Utena (well the movie at least) and for some manga from the Clamp girls , but for tv programs never , which makes me ask you , which ones would be consired dudettes tv programs? sex in the City , desperate House wives or what? (Never liked those tho) Come on dudes its time to confess :3
There's no hope for him. He's infected with the furry virus. Just take him out behind the barn and put him down before it spreads to anyone else.
You like what you like mang, I felt that way about Naruto at first as I thought it was some sort of kids show but upon watching it I was drawn in and realized that it wasn't a kid show, I also like Sailor Moon but didn't like the bits when the original 5 were joined by the remaining, didn't care for the rest. I refuse to watch MLP though, I don't need anything else taking hard drive space away from my porn.
There's nothing wrong with watching it; the reboot is a legitimately good cartoon. It's full of great humor and subtle throwbacks that only adults would get, something that classic cartoons used to be full of. I find it to be more immature than anything to deny yourself of enjoyment due to pre-concieved notions that society has dictated on gender or age roles.
Plus, in one of the episodes there is a scene where a piano falls one of the characters. Think about that. When was the last time that happened in a children's cartoon?
I remember enjoying Powerpuff Girls when I was a kid, it had very clever writing and despite the name really appealed to both genders. If it's made by the same people I doubt there's anything wrong with enjoying it. Bronies just make it look bad, like Trekkies make star trek look bad. I spent my whole life avoiding star trek because I thought it looked stupid. Now I'm really enjoying the original series, it is still kinda stupid but in a great way!

Pretty much the same story with me. I never bothered with Star Trek during my childhood due to the social stigma involved. But just a couple years ago I finally got involved in The Next Generation and I love the heck out of it. Opened up a whole new world to me.
And yea, MLP is made by the Power Puff Girls' creator. Same basic style and everything, it's just tied to an established franchise this time. The brony fandom is indeed a little crazy, but it's all ancillary to the show at hand.
I watched a few episodes myself. It's a very addictive and charming show. I kinda stopped at Episode.15 and never thought about it again. I'm not a TV person, after all.
The last western cartoon that I ever really enjoyed was Megas XLR. What a crazy and amazing show. Loved the fact that it had multiple jokes based in gaming. I still loved the episode where they go to a Halo ring, or hey how about that Sailor Moon episode.
Long live Coop, Jamie and Kiva!!!
