What are things that you think are great in practice, but are you're sick of because they're used to death? For example: LOL. LOL used to mean something. Now, I see it in nearly every YouTube comment, and those people didn't crack a goddamn smile.
Overused On The Internet
" @DonutFever said:You can tell just from what it was. I mean, I don't really know, I guess I should have said "and I'm gonna assume they didn't crack a goddamn smile."" LOL used to mean something. " every and all meme's. including GB ones. the GB community ran "I'm a wizard' into the ground with a dizzying speed "I don't want to agree, but the proof is on the forums. I still get a chuckle out of it though.
Cool Story Bro!

This makes me RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE!!!!!
Also, people picking out grammar on forums even to the tiniest matter like everyone is a god damn English master. If something is poorly written then yes, maybe. But I really hate it when only one or two mistakes are made and somebody feels the need to comment/correct it.
:)
I don't partake in memes. Mostly because I don't understand half of them. And people that use them are generally 'tards.
" @MrKlorox said:As far as I can tell, LOL has changed from it's original meaning of 'laugh out loud' to more of an 'how amusing', 'this makes me chuckle" kinda thing. The fact that an internet acronym is capable of undergoing linguistic reinterpretation seems more than a little crazy, to me, but that's English for you." @DonutFever said:You can tell just from what it was. " ...the GB community ran "I'm a wizard' into the ground with a dizzying speed "Huh, really? I've only seen that one used once in a thread, and its use actually made sense. I've seen it happen to other GB memes, though, so it doesn't really surprise me. Perhaps I've just been fortunate to have avoided the threads that killed it.

I don't think zombies are really over used, they're rarely every used right, but that doesn't mean they're over used, well at least not now, since I haven't seen any zombie stuff in a while.
It makes me sad that the only good zombie movies are comedies, people think making a serious zombie movie should be easy, so they half-ass it and fail. Some duder I know is trying to make a serious zombie movie that won't suck, called Hearth Land, about kids that were born and raised after zombies appeared, and so far it sounds pretty awesome, got some real hope in it.
" @Laketown said:there's been at least 4-5 threads with shirt designs." ...the GB community ran "I'm a wizard' into the ground with a dizzying speed "Huh, really? There are too many to list off, and since I try my damnedest to block them from my mind I can't think of anything right this moment. As for the lol thing in the OP, I just use it or =) :) at the end of something if it's meant to be sarcastic. Only way to get sarcasm across in written form; short of spelling it out anyway.
Even though I love the Xzibit image it's getting old. And generally any type of image reply is something I've always sort of disliked.
The zombie comedies are pretty good in there defense but yeah since most people think zombies are overused a serious zombie movie would suffer more than a comedy. The walking dead is a wierd exception before anyone says anything. I think we will have a year or two more of the red dead style zombie parody and then they will die down a tad bit or atleast i kinda hope it does.
" every and all meme's."Well, isn't a meme inherently overused? How else does a meme become a meme in the first place, if it's not overused a bit? It's human nature to take funny and relevant little jokes, and make small icons out of them. People do it on a small scale too, amongst close friends, hence the "inside joke". I don't know, I guess I just don't really mind a good joke being a bit overplayed--if it's actually funny, that is.

Yo dawg, I want to love you but I can't, I want to hate you but I can't.

people who refer to themselves as grammar nazis
people who use the word hipster
the internet has made me a jaded asshole. fuck you, internet.
Certainly, funny uses do pop up, but that's the exception rather than the rule.
Things overused on the internet? Being an asshole with learning disabilities. Play-pretend nazis. Hot lesbian chicks who look an awful lot like a middle aged depressed men in front of computer screens. Wikipedia-scholar-know-it-all. Grammar rebels. Fat chicks who know how to work camera angles. And by that token, people who take pictures of themselves in the mirror so their new Canon gives them photography credibility. People who think too much about which pictures of themselves to put up, and those that doesn't think at all about what pictures they put up. Made up attitudes.
Oh fuck, don't make me question why I even own a computer.
"FTW" and people using asterisks as if they were actually doing something. Example: *does a jig*
I won't call people out when they use "FTW" or asterisks in that way, but I will silently rage.
The community reaction to "I'm a wizard" was depressing. Every thread ever has a couple of people proclaiming it's fucked up nature, whether it makes the tiniest bit of sense or not.
Now THAT is fucked up.
" @Laketown said:wait, how come i didn't come across that? Image macros, pretty much all of them. That includes basically all memes.

I can't help but think that this was deliberate. Just like how the South Harmon Institute of Technology has its purposeful initials.
