So I might show my lack of popular knowledge with this thread. I'd be the first to tell you that I don't know what things are still popular and what aren't. But, I do know that on forums or from kids at my work (I'm a mental health therapist) there are still certain terms that are still typed or spoken that I've become stupidly grumpy about. I'm not an old guy. In fact, I'm at the age where I should be saying some of these terms. But instead I've just become a grumpy old man well before my time. That said, when I read or hear these terms I just can't stand them and I can't be the only one.

So, I'll give my list (a work in progress I might add) and then you can join me in being grumpy. It'll be a thread full of grumpy people bitching about the things people say or type. What could be better?

1) Lol

2) Noob

3) WTF

4) Bro or Bro-Code

5) LMAO or LMFAO

6) Basically any internet or text-based abbreviation

British chav slang is often times so funny I find it hard getting annoyed with it. Especially in class, people have started saying "Allow it!" when someone gets a sick burn on someone and else and now I use it all the time. It's ridiculous, I love it.

All of it. People are just lazy and don't like to put the effort into adding in those extra few letters.

I don't know about slang, but it really pisses me off how that Luis CK first world problems meme has become so wide spread. The second you have any kind of complaint about anything, no matter how valid or invalid, some douche comes in spouting that annoying fucking thing. It's so dam stupid.

The sayings and common phrases of others don't bother me. Unless they are quoting the abomination that is LMFAO. Then they are evil.

Tru. Living near London means I hear slang literally every hour. Ting, Nang, Wagwan, it takes it's toll on you. Eventually you will join.

Fellow Germans call video projectors "beamers", and i don't like it. They also call cell phones "handys".

There's part of the bro code. I've actually heard people, 'bros', refer to to this code and be completely, honestly serious. As if they were speaking from the damn Bible.

I think there gonna start putting the bro code on kegs.

What if it's something like Chernobyl? Can that be classified under epic fail?

I hate when white kids call their parent's minivan their "whip" and their parent's house their "crib". When used correctly, however, I don't have a problem with either of these words.

Those are the initial ones that spring to mind.

Man, all my friends - and through infection, me along with them - are always going on about how they totally "raped" some dudes by getting a triple spray with the M416 or whatever.

Also, "try-hard". What the fuck does that even mean at this point? "Man, what a try-hard name", "That guy is using the Famas, he's a try-hard", "dude your KD is fucking 4, that's try-hard man, that's what the fuck I'm talking about!".

Finally, my fellow norwegians are using the norwegian word for "greedy" for everything excessive, negative or positive. "That party was fucking GREEDY, man!". "They sold out of Battlefield 3? Fucking greedy".

I use "bro" somewhat regularly, but only referring to a handful of friends. No idea what a "bro-code" is though.

Hashtags (What is the point of this shit?)

Bro-words (Why is there a need to alter words with "bro"? What's next, Nintenbro, Brozilla, Microsoft Broffice?)

Hacking a Facebook profile (Totally obliterating the actual meaning of the word "hacking")

Here in holland we got kids/young adults with foreign parents, yet the kids themselves think its cool to mutilate our language or talk with a certain hard to understand accent.

I think they should all crawl back to their shitcountry and die.
Talk normal dutch or english, don't fuck up words or even worse make up your own words which eventually get accepted into the dutch dictoniary...fuck.
