Even though I am playing video games for almost 22 years now, it was only until some weeks ago that I got to read - in a TV magazine !!! - about the Giant Bombcast. Huge fan of the guys ( <3 Vinny <3 ) since I listened to my first Bombcast. "Finally" registered as a member yesterday and I just LOVE the Quick Looks. Already thinking about upgrading to premium membership. Not fully convicced, yet, though. Getting rid of the "Contre Jour" and "The Collection" ad would be awesome. You just have to MENTION them to me, and I'll get aggressive :P My addiction to the Quick Looks forced me to watch a lot of ads...

Welcome. People get ads when watching quick looks? I'm in Canada and the only time I get ads in video is during live stuff.

Welcome to the site @FreakGirl:, you already realize Vinny is the greatest which was the same for me when I first joined a little over a year ago. Where did you read about the Bombcast? You should take pictures and upload them because I would be curious exactly what you read.

If you hate the Contre jour ads, just be glad you weren't here when they had some Pro Gaming crap. 'There's so much epicness about to begin!' Ugh. Could never hit mute fast enough.

Wait a while before going premium - you should see if the work that these guys produce is enough to warrant your subscription. Then watch the Persona 4 and Deadly Premonition endurance runs. If it all turns out well, you'll be a subscriber before you know it.

What got me to finally buy into the premium membership was a premium-only livestream of SNES games. It was kind of an impulse thing but I've stuck with it. Hopefully all those Famicon games that Ryan just received lead to another retro game livestream soon.

Well, the magazine which caught my attention for the Giant Bombcast is actually my weekly magazine for what's on TV. It's an Austrian one - www.tv-media.at - and far from being anything special or noteworthy. But at the end of the magazine they always have recommendations for CDs, games, books, etc. ;-) I am sure I heard about the site before, since I am a member of the German GamePro forums, love the RPGCast from rpgamer.com and also frequently stop by @gamespot.com; but it wasn't until I read about this great Giant Bombcast in the TV mag. that I checked the podcast and this site out.

My favourite (sorry, I LOVE the British English :D ) gaming magazine btw. is Games TM (UK) for which I have a subscription. The current one is especially awesome!

@kidman: Actually, I play almost every genre. My favourite one would be Racing, but there is none I truly dislike.

Some of my favourite games this year are: Diablo III, Torchlight II, P4 Golden, WRC 3, Forza Horizon, XCOM, Journey and a couple more xD

The only negative habit I have in my gaming life is that I hardly ever beat / complete a game. I always have to buy and play the latest ones, but tend to lose interest in them as soon as I get stuck :/ Not proud of it...

@FreakGirl: You could try the monthly subscription to sample the premium content to see if it's worth your while. But even if you don't subscribe, there's still a ton of content that is more than enough to keep you busy for quite some time if you are indeed new to the site. Over a thousand Quick Looks, the legendary Endurance Runs, the Bombcasts, and the occasional (and now extinct) video review. Not to mention a few miscellaneous bits tucked in here and there.

Welcome! The membership is worth it to support these awesome dudes, and the premium content is great including downloading TNTs which I always miss live.

The best premium feature is the random PC game stuff, and flight club? Is that premium? These are both features in which Vinny participates.

Personally, I think that if you look at the premium content as a pure value proposition, it probably falls flat, because the incremental value of even a high quality piece of web content is very low, when measured across all websites. I invested because I spend a lot of time on this website and would be bereft if it were to go away. Sort of like the reason I pay for NPR, and I don't even get anything at all from them.

Now I will spend the rest of the evening with watching some nice Quick Looks. After two crappy dayshifts @ work I really need something that puts a smile on my face. And Vinny and the other guys usually manage this pretty well. Though I must admit, that the Sonic Transformed QL was rather boring.
