The dood did the best that he possibly could under some shitty circumstances, and to say that any of the past Presidents could've handled this better (take a look back at America's deficit during the World Wars, then tell me we're in a similar bind...remember this little thing called The Depression?)...that's just naive.I can't say that I agreed 100% with Bush, but at the same time...do you think KERRY would've done a better job of handling 9/11, two hurricanes, and taking down a hostile regime in a foreign nation that no one else was willing to do something about?"

There are so many people at fault for the current state of the economy, presidents don't matter.
In a state of massive greed and fake money what do you expect?
All that being said Bush was without question the worst president within my lifetime, and one of the worst within our lifetime. He had universal approval at one time, and the ability to unit the American people as one nation, instead he divided us the farthest we have been since the Civil War. That alone is inexcusable. Furthermore, his politics of fear, while not rare, were sickening.
Better get your duct tape were in Red!
Bush isn't responsible for the economic condition, nor is Obama, Clinton, or any president.

"Keynesianism is BUILT on that fallacy though, burton. And no descendent of Von Mises or Friedman is listened to anymore. At least not on the government side."Yes it is. Keynes actually said himself "hire people to dig holes and fill them back in".

Governments will always use Keynesian economics though because it focuses on short run gains, which is all a politician needs.

This is off-topic. If I talk about video games on this board it will be moved. I don't go to the gaming sections because there is nothing to discuss. I play games, and they are fun. End of discussion. And yes, I'm assuming that this site will just be renamed in honor of me. But no, I'm not trying to convert anyone. I don't expect people like you to have the mental capacity to understand what I say. I just like to argue for the sake of arguing, not conversion. "
I find it hilarious that a right wingnut is flaming me regarding my "mental capacity". Nice ;)
Opposing any taxation whatsoever, wanting no government military, not wanting police, opposing all war, wanting to get rid of the Federal Reserve, not wanting government court system, supporting the allowance of prostitution and drugs, is hardly a Republican political view.
My personal views on evolution and religion are completely unrelated to this discussion. I have some views similar to conservatives as far as personal values go, but the difference is that I don't want anyone else to be forced into them. And that's a big difference.
So no, I am not a republican.
