Ranch dressing on Pizza: Yay or Nay?

I love that this forums regulary necros threads that are 2+ years old in an almost daily basis.

How does it happen so often? I never really seen it even on larger forums and even then the topic is closed almost immediately.

With that said, I sometimes refine a pizza by putting some chilli on it, if it doesn't have at least 50000 scoville I'm not even considering touching it.

I had a teacher who told us about going to Pizza Hut with their college friends and they would have to order like an entire cereal bowl full of ranch dressing to go with one pizza between them. I was repulsed, but also curious. So then I tried this combination for myself and actually didn't mind it. I don't get a craving for it, but I understand it now.

Just the smell of Ranch makes me nauseous. It reminds me of my sweaty shin guards after a soccer game when I played in high school.

Ick, no way. Best pizza is plain pizza. Putting stuff on it just messes up the whole thing.

I rarely put it on a fresh pizza and almost always put it in reheated leftovers. So yes, ranch on pizza!

I'll do it with frozen pies.

Whoever said fries and mayo is gross can pass that mayo over here, I'll gladly eat it.

I've never had ranch dressing in my life, but after looking at the recipe it doesn't sound bad.

On a pizza? Hell no. Dipping crust in ranch is a big yes.

That depends. We know Pizza is not a sandwich, but is Pizza a salad? Because the last time I checked, ranch is a salad dressing.

Ranch dressing tastes like some watered down sour cream that's gone slightly rancid. So no.

Ranch on Pizza is strange to me. But having lived in Newfoundland for several years I was forced to try Donair sauce on pizza. Better than Ranch, but I still don't like it.

There are only a few things that I can say taste unhealthy in a bad way. Ranch dressing is one of them. It's a gross feeling.

@dray2k: I've noticed it tends to be someone with only one post who revives the thread. I'm guessing from a Google search bringing them here, and then people don't notice the time jump. Always weird to me too

I've had ranch on a subway sandwich before and I know I enjoyed the sandwich, but I don't actually know what ranch is or really what it tastes like. But either way fuck yes bang some on a pizza.

You can put anything on a pizza. AND I MEAN ANYTHING.

I put a spicy ranch in my philly cheese steak and that's pretty good.

on the pizza no, but as a side dip, then sure.... i occasionally like to dip my pizza in some ranch.

Ranch is wonderful on pizza, as long as the pizza is made to work with the ranch. Just dumping ranch on a pizza isn't gonna be great unless you just love ranch. Also important to note it depends on the ranch, some ranch can be sweet and that shit is gross. You want your ranch to be tangy and creamy. Mix that with some tomato sauce for a club house pizza, some hot sauce for a buffalo chicken pizza, some pesto to help balance the garlic flavour of a pesto pizza, hell it even goes great with a sweet thai chili sauce and some pineapples.

I think the general opinion of ranch is low because most people just only have cheap shitty kraft or fast food ranch, or had dishes with ranch just dumped on top of something. You have to use decent ranch and in moderate amounts.

I don't like ranch at all, but the ranch dressing at Jet's Pizza is possibly the greatest addition to pizza since stuffed crust.

I never tried it. I tend to like to eat the crust plain, especially if it a really good hand-tossed pizza with homemade dough.
