Remembrance: Norwegian victims of the Massacre of July 22, 2011

On Friday, July 22, 2011 over 90 innocent people, mostly youths, were killed in a bomb attack in the city of Oslo, followed by a mass shooting on the island of Utøya.

The reasons for the attack are still unclear, whatever the reason, the tragic loss of life should be remembered and mourned.

I have started this thread as a way to pay my respects to the people who have lost their lives and to the families of the victims. In Canada, we wear poppies on Remembrance Day to commemorate the soldiers who died for our country. This poppy represents my thoughts and wishes to those survivors and the family and friends of victims of this tragedy. Please feel free to post the poppy as a symbolic gesture of your own.

You know that the dude was a nationalist right? and the camp was for a political party for arbeiderpartiet who are socialists, most of there politics are for multicultural and respect of each race or something. and it was a youth gathering so they could have been 14-20.

@biospank: OK, I will change my post to youths instead of children. The point of this thread is not about the debate of the reasons behind the attack it's for the support of the victims.

Very sad, reminds me a lot of the Virgina Tech shootings a few years ago.

This whole thing is so fucking tragic. Been keeping our flag at half mast, just like everyone else around here. 
 
I don't think many people was expecting something like this would ever happen in Scandinavia.

I don't really know what to say about this; I can't even imagine the feelings of those who had people close to them killed. Incredibly tragic. 
 

I don't like the fact that one individual can cause so much death and destruction. It's a sad part of life that we all have to live with. My heart goes out to the victims of a senseless crime.

Losing someone is never easy. 90 deaths is just absolutely ridiculous; my heart goes out to all those affected.

Almost at a loss for what to say, this has been on my mind since I read about it yesterday morning... Reading about the situation on Utoya made me sick, as did news of the bombing; and the rising casualty numbers over the rest of the day only made the feeling stronger.

Thank you. As a norwegian this weekend has been the worst I can remember, and I still can't fathom what has been going on. I've been lucky enough to not have any relations to anyone on Utøya or in the bomb attack in Oslo, but as a norwegian I still feel it's an attack on me personally.  

My thoughts and prayers go out to those effected by this tragedy.

As an American of Norwegian heritage, this news hit me pretty hard. Here's a field of poppies for my Norwegian brothers.
