I'm not sure if this is old news but it seems to be fairly new, heres a video of Obama trying to shake some Russian politicians hands with no luck.
Russian's won't shake Obama's hand.
Hmm. I remember a video where world leaders lined up to shake each others hands, I think it was last November, and they all blanked Bush. But that's understandable, it was Bush.
They probably should have showed Obama some more respect. But oh well.
Yeah, Obama was all like "What the fuck did you just do boy?"
**I'm not really sure of the situation or why they didn't shake his hand though**
" That's pretty disrespectful of them "Yeah no kidding. What the hells the matter with them? Even if we were on the brink of a war you still should sit down and shake hands and be civil.

I recall reading that Bush had already greeted some of them, and I think they didn't do it while they were all gathered together. I may be wrong, though. This seems to be a bit different.
" @Keyser_Soze said:Well it was in front of cameras, the whole set-up was for the media and they were there to shake hands, and they were all happily shaking each others hands, Bush was the only odd one out. I smell some PR make-up from the Bush camp to make it seem rosy when really the world leaders probably thought thank God this man's going." Hmm. Maybe they have a tradition of shaking their own Prime Minister(Russia has PMs now right?) hand first? Maybe if Obama was second in line for shakes he would have had better reception?
I don't think he is trying to shake their hands. It looks more like he is pointing to them, and introducing them to the other guy. Right after Obama points the guy behind him shakes their hands.
" @Keyser_Soze said:America." @dcpc10 said:Good thing that where I live, I don't have to ''shut it'' Mr.Putin. "" This is why the Russians have a bad rep. "Shut it before they Lenin your ass. "
Don't taze him bro.
" @Keyser_Soze: I like how you assumed I lived in the States. Ignorance these days. -_- "Wherever you're from I can probably find something resembling aspects of a police state. State your country and I will find, UK, Germany, France? It's pretty much the same everywhere.

Um...are we sure they were refusing to shake hands with him, or was he introducing people to the guy who was shaking hands? At the end, there's a bit of distance between him and the guys he's pointing his hand in the direction of.
Russians and Americans not getting along? My god this is something we've never heard of, right? :P
Can you blame Russia really? Relations between both countries have hardly been on the promising or even positive over the last decade and longer. I'm sure there are some within the Russian government and beyond who either still hold a grudge for past indiscrections and such like. Just as I'm sure the same can be said for American politicians.
Time heals all wounds, clearly it needs longer for these ones :)
Maybe Obama is using the other guy's hand as a proxy for his own hand. Why shake all these Russian's hands when he could have someone else do it for him? :P

I've seen documentaries where neighbours go to war for far, far less over their gardens and private property.
"maybe it was lag?"Yea russia only has dialup, Obama would be waiting a while before they shook his hand :P
" He's like. "Oh... fine whatever, next!" -- "Now this is bullshit." -- "Alright fuck these assholes." Dude has a very expressive face. That's something we haven't seen in the Whitehouse for a long time. "Not necessarily what you want for a president either heh...
Anyway, it could have been one of those situations where he sort of guides with his hand for the other person to shake hands with.
