I think people are going to be going "the fashion was sort of shit. or at least some of it was."
Actually, I already am. I mean, seriously, what's with all the guys in skinny jeans and too-small t-shirts? My mom dragged me into American Eagle last year and showed me this shirt, and I was like "it's too small." And she looked at the tag and said "it's an extra large", and I replied, "I don't care, it's too small".
Also, pink, teal, and yellow collared shirts with white slacks do not belong on anyone.
And 5 years ago, it was all ill-fitting clothes that were too big. Like, seriously, people in my school were wearing "gangsta" clothes that cost more money than my $100 sneakers. I guess they missed the instructional video talking about how people on the streets couldn't buy nice clothes.
50 Cent will probably be looked at as some sort of generational thing that we'll all listen to nostalgically, kind of like all the 80s rappers are now, and the 90s rappers will be in about 10 years. Kanye will probably be huge for years to come, kind of like the Beatles, or Bruce Springsteen.
Most of the artists on the top of the charts right now, though, will be largely forgotten. If you listen to, say, Music Choice's current rap station, most of the music sounds pretty much the same, beat-wise. So only a couple of artists will really be remembered. I have a theory that that's how it always is with music: a bunch of similar-sounding bands come out at the same time (zeitgeist?), and only the best few are remembered.
Also, iPods.
