Yeah... read the title :)
I've been doing it for about 4 years, but I've been out for about 2 years due to salmonella for 9 months, then when I tried to get fit quickly again by running a lot, and got patella tendinitis (ironic huh). I'm just about healed now and getting back into it.
What's your story?
EDIT: in case you didn't know (and most people don't), having patella tendinitis meant that I couldn't run or jump or land, which is kind of a problem for freerunning
So who does parkour/freerunning here?
I've been free running for 100 years, but I got the black plague, then got SARS, then bird flu, than food poisoning, then broke both my legs, then broke every bone in my body, then reverted back into a prehistoric chimp, THEN ate a bad potato chip, but I'm getting back into it as well.

"hahaha.... if you say so...
I saw Paul Blart: Mall Cop. It seemed like something the average person shouldn't attempt. Not only because of the risk of injury, but because you'll just look like a giant douche if you don't know what the hell you're doing.
HARD-CORE PAR-KOUR!
Yeah, people get frustrated at how slow I walk, I don't think I could ever run. FREELY, on top of that.
But it seems pretty cool, but only in certain scenarios. Otherwise, you look kind of dorky, no offence. Maybe I'm just jealous cause I can't do it :(
I'd love to get into it but I'm only just getting back into shape. Also, sorry to say, but training at the very beginning looks absolutely stupid :P lots of jumping with a serious face from chest high walls to chest high walls
Also I am obligated to put this
What a legend! Seriously though, why would he put that up on YT for everyone to see?" I'd love to get into it but I'm only just getting back into shape. But to counteract it, I give you....
Enjoy :)
HOLY SHIT.
that's pretty damn cool. I've never done parkour but my friend's older brother was really good at it and did it for ages... he also broke many bones...
I would just like to have as good fitness as the sorts of people who are really good at it, the act itself seems too bone-breaky for me. Then again as I said I have never tried.
I watched that one episode of The Office when Michael, Dwight and Andy did it...
I think that counts.
I've just started practicing for real. I have good balance so I'm actually picking it up pretty fast.
Haha, that first vid was funny as!" @swamplord666 said:

The second was sweet, looked really good, when I see videos like that it looks good but I watched a competition on TV and it was too confined and didn't flow very well. Looks good when it flows, I'd like to do it but I don't think it would go down well here in Preston :P

@CoverlessTech: haha, I meant it was painful/detrimental to my knees to do any of those things
I would love to do it just to get fit. I'm in shape but I get this would get your body a lot leaner.
I just hate how showoff-ish it looks though. If I did it would be for my own enjoyment and away from people watching.
This is more freerunning/tricking than actual parkour, so if you wanted to do something in the same vein, I would advise doing parkour, which, while it can look quite impressive, doesn't look 'showoff-ish'. LINK TO PARKOUR PAGE
Hope this helps in some way :)
I uploaded a small freerunning video of myself if anyone is interested, read the description for more info.

I am absolutely fascinated by free running but lack the coordination and discipline to attempt it myself.
I really do enjoy seeing people push the human body and the physics it's capable of to it's limits.
Isn't free running basically doing flips and random crazy acrobatics while you are running, while Parkour is all about minimalizing the excessive movements you make in order to run, roll, and jump at the highest efficiency?" @sodiumCyclops: I know what you mean, but it really depends on how you do it. I was using this video as an example because showing something that is 'showoff-ish' looks better than something that isn't.
