Yea, I didn't like that song either. It has no melody and is repetitive. But it's still music. And the person that makes it is still a musician.

"Really Soulja boy is what's wrong with a lot of today's music.
There is no thought or meaning or hard work put into it, it's just a simple beat with bland shallow lyrics, but it's catchy and makes a lot of money.
Not many artists really put their hearts into their music anymore, it's all about money.

It's why this music isn't going to remembered like Tupacs', pink floyds', Led Zeppelins'. Rushs', Bob Marleys', etc."
Thats' like saying people aren't going to remember Daft punk , or the sugar hill gang, or the Beastie Boys. Their songs had little substance and meaning other than being fun. I don't see a problem with fun music for fun's sake. Everything doesn't have to be deep and introspective. Sometimes it's just nice to dance and have a good that. Thats how those songs are going to be remembered. People are going to look back and remember simple, enjoyable times that they had."
Yes, simple times when I supermaned that hoe, that was a good time in my life. Not being inspired by people that pour their heart out for music, no of course not thats for saps
/sarcasm"
I don't see anything wrong with people pouring out there heart into music. I think thats great. But I also don't see anything wrong with soulja boy making his music. I think there are room in the world for both.

I'm pretty sure thats not what it means. People just retroconed it. It obviously makes much more since in the context of the song, where it is related to the dance."
Nope that is what supaman that hoe means no joke."
In the context of the song he talks about various other dances before and after the superman line. And the entire song is about a dance, not sex. If you interpret the superman line as a sexual innuendo, then it doesn't match up with the rest of the subject matter, however if you interpret it as a dance, then it makes sence.

Also, if you do the dance, the "super man" part intentionally matches up with the superman line of the song, further showing that it is in relation to the dance and not a sexual act."
Here's the lryics you tard it's almost all sexual.

*lyrics*
"
I don't see where they are. The word "hoe" and "bitch" don't necessarily refer to women all the time. When used as slang they can refer to anything ("That Homework was a bitch"). He isn't directly addressing a women (or anyone for that matter).

Maybe I shouldn't say that his music is never sexual. But I will say that it's never over the top. He never is direct about sexual intercourse in his 2007 album. The most sexual thing he will every say is "shake your booty" or something mild like that.
"
SOULJA BOY OFF IN THIS HOE.
Are you a troll?
Seriously I'm thinking you are at this point no one can seriously be this fucking stupid."
Who is he calling a hoe? no one. It's just a generic term to refer to the situation or place. Thats the way the slang works.

What the hell are you even arguing at this point?
Yes he is by definition a person who makes music. but not excellent music and that's a god damn fact.
And yes his songs contain lyrics that demean women.

Why are you even defending him? He's makes poor quality music and people knock him for that.
No one is saying you can't go dance to it if you want.

Please stop saying slang it's obvious he's at least hinting at sex.
Also "Supersoak dat hoe".
The song is very dirty, and it can obviously and easily be interpreted as sexual.

Yes this is music. I can respect these kids and what they're doing. They got together, wrote it out, and played it. I may not personally think that it's a great song, but I still they deserve respect.

Not necessarily, its just that one fluke of a song makes these kids want to hear his shit even more. Trust me, shit music to adults is probably considered amazing to most teenage kids.

I'm sure there were times when Nas wasn't the best rapper alive.  When Nas was first starting out he probably wasn't very good either. If people would have counted him out then without giving him a chance then he probably wouldn't have improved and gotten to the point where he is now. Just because you don't like somebody's song doesn't make them invalid from a musicianship standpoint.

I disagree. I think he offers a vibe that no one else is doing right now. his music has a very lo-fi and under produced sound to it. He is very much a kid in his basement just trying to have fun and entertain people and it comes through in his music.

I don't think most teenage kids consider the music adults listen to amazing. Tastes shift with time. I'm sure that the people who are adults now didn't like their parents music either. Every generation children move on to their new music just as their parents before them did.

Uhhh...I never said that Nas was the best rapper alive. I was referring to his commentary on how crap like Soulja Boy is destroying Hip-Hop. It has nothing to do with Soulja Boy not being good to start out with - his style is just plain awful. The meaningless, retarted lyrics...GAH! You can't get better at making garbage.

And Nas was ALWAYS amazing. Go listen to Illmatic. Then go listen to Common, Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, The Roots, Timbaland, Erykah Badu, The Fugees, and some other good music. The stink of Soulja Boy will be cleansed from your soul...and you iPod. BTW: Most all of those artists are not about calling women bitches or about dealing drugs. Maybe you just need to stop listening to the radio and look for some good music?

2. The way Nas (allegedly) considers Soulja Boy garbage is the same way some people could consider rap as a whole garbage. Nas can say Soulja Boy is garbage, but then Soulja Boy could turn around and say Nas is garbage. Who is right? It's all a matter of how you look at things.

Here's an example, lets compare the lyrics of "Soulja Girl", to the lyrics of Dumb It Down by Lupe Fiasco.

"Soulja Boy Tell 'em. (Yeeeah)
Right Now It's Going Down. (Yeeah)
Looking For That Soulja Girl. (Oh Yeeeah)
Aye Aye Aye Aye (Damn)

Watch Me Do
Watch Me Do
Eh Eh

Aye,
You Gta Step Like This To Be A Soulja Girl.
You Gta Step Like That To Be A Soulja Girl.
Girl Let Me See You. (Youuu)
Tell Me Youu. (Youuu)
You Gta Walk It Out, To Be A Soulja Ma.
Know What I'm Talking 'bout.
Hey Soulja Girl.
Girl Let Me See You. (Youuu)
Tell Me Youu. (Youuu)

You Gta Walk It Out, To Be My Soulja Girl.
I Can Take You Out And Pimpin' You Out?? Told Ya Girl.
[?] From Monday To Sunday.
I Know We Going But Everybody Fall Lil Sunday.
Soulja Boy ???? Girls Gone Wild.
From The Corner Of My Eye, I Saw Her Smile.
You Wanna Be My Girl, You Gta Wipe Me Down?
Dress So Fresh, Make The Girls Say Wow.

Loving Me, My Soulja Girl. [x2]
(Youuu)

We On The Phone Like Da Da Da Da Da Da Da Da. [x2]
She Calling Me, I'm Calling Her.
She Following Me, I'm Following Her.
My Mom Picks Up The Phone And Says;
"You Got This Girl Sprung."
She Got Me Sprung Too.
She Says; "Both Of Yall Dumb."
But I'm Diggin' Her, She Diggin' Me.
And She So Cute, She So Lovely.

(Youuu)

Da Da Da Da Da Da Da Da. [x8] [Until Fade, Basically]"

GARBAGE!!!!!!!! Now lets see Dumb it Down:

[Verse 1:]
I'm fearless
Now hear this
I'm earless
And I'm peer-less
That means I'm eyeless
Which means I'm tearless
Which means my iris resides where my ears is
Which means I'm blinded
But I'mma find it I can feel it's nearness
But I'mma veer so I don't come near
Like a chicken or a deer
But I remember I'm not a listener or a seer so my windshield smear
Here, you steer, I really shouldn't be behind this, clearly cause my blindness
The windshield is minstrel, the whole grill is roadkill, so trill and so sincere. Yeah, I'm both them there
Took both pills, when a bloke in a trench coat and the locs in the chair had approached him here
And he clear as a ghost, so a biter of the throats in the mirror
The writer of the quotes for the ghosts who supplier of the notes to the living
Riveting is rosy, pockets full of posies, given to the mother of the deceased. Awaken at war, 'til I'm restin' in peace

[Chorus 1:]
You goin' over niggas' heads Lu (Dumb it down)
They tellin' me that they don't feel you (Dumb it down)
We ain't graduate from school nigga (Dumb it down)
Them big words ain't cool nigga (Dumb it down)
Yeah I heard Mean And Vicious nigga (Dumb it down)
Make a song for the bitches nigga (Dumb it down)
We don't care about the weather nigga (Dumb it down)
You'll sell more records if you (Dumb it down)

[Verse 2:]
And I'm mouthless
Which means I'm soundless
Now as far as the hearing, I've found it
It was as far as the distance from the earring to the ground is
But the doorknockers on the ear of a stewardess in a Lear
She fine and she flyin, I feel I'm flying by'em 'cause my mind's on cloud nine and I'm a mime at the same time
Pimp C the wings on the underground king
Who's also Klingon
To infinity and beyond
Something really stinks, but I Spinks like Leon
Or lying in the desert
I'm flying on Pegasus you're flying on the pheasant
Rider of the white powder, picker of the fire flowers, spit hot fire like Dylon on Chappelle's skit
Yeah, smell it on my unicorn, don't snort the white horse, but toot my own horn (sleep)

[Chorus 2:]
You've been shedding too much light Lu (Dumb it down)
You make'em wanna do right Lu (Dumb it down)
They're getting self-esteem it down)
These girls are trying to be queens Lu (Dumb it down)
They're trying to graduate from school Lu (Dumb it down)
They're starting to think that smart is cool Lu (Dumb it down)
They're trying to get up out the hood Lu (Dumb it down)
I'll tell you what you should do (Dumb it down)

[Verse 3:]
And I'm brainless
Which means I'm headless
Like Ichabod Crane is
Or foreplay-less sex is
Which makes me stainless
With no neck left to hang the chain with
Which makes me necklace-less
Like a necklace theft
And I ain't used my headrest yet
They said they need proof like a vestless chest 'bout the best, fair F-F-jet in the nest
Who exudes confidence and excess depth
Even Scuba Steve would find it hard to breathe
Around these leagues
My snorkle is a tuba, Lu the ruler around these seas
Westside Poseidon, Westside beside'em, chest high and rising
Almost touching the knees of stewardess and the pilot
Lucky they make you flowered
Personal floating devices, tricks falling out of my sleeves
David Blaine
Make it rain
You Make a boat
I make a plane
Then, I pull the plug and I make it drain
Until I feel like flowing and filling it up again..(Westside)

[Chorus 3:]
You putting me to sleep nigga (Dumb it down)
That's why you ain't popping in the streets nigga (Dumb it down)
You ain't winning no awards nigga (Dumb it down)
Robots and skateboards nigga? (Dumb it down)
GQ Man Of The Year G? (Dumb it down)
Shit ain't rocking over here B (Dumb it down)
Won't you talk about your cars nigga? (Dumb it down)
And what the fuck is goyard nigga (Dumb it down)
Make it rain for the chicks (Dumb it down)
Pour champagne on a bitch (Dumb it down)
What the fuck is wrong with you? (Dumb it down)
How can I get on a song with you? (Dumb it down)

[Gemini: talking]
Look B, here's my man, my two way, (hey) uh, what should I - ah here take this (hey) that right there, fuck what my boys talk about nigga, (hey) nigga you hot to me, I like you (Dumb it down)

[Lupe:]
Bishop G, they told me I should come down cousin, but I flatly refuse I ain't dumb down nothing

I agree with you completely...but honestly I'm not sure if people who think Soulja Boy is good music are capable of being saved...

If the teenagers are flocking to his music then it must not be shit to them. He has a talent for making music that his demographic likes."
Not necessarily, its just that one fluke of a song makes these kids want to hear his shit even more. Trust me, shit music to adults is probably considered amazing to most teenage kids."
I don't think most teenage kids consider the music adults listen to amazing. Tastes shift with time. I'm sure that the people who are adults now didn't like their parents music either. Every generation children move on to their new music just as their parents before them did."
Like more of the music my parents listen to than modern stuff. :|

Can't there be room for both? There is a time and place for soulja boy and lupe fiasco. Both offer different things. Soulja boy may not be as deep as lupe, but that doesn't invalidate him.

It's like saying you can't have geometry wars and metal gear solid 4. Just because geometry wars isn't on the deep, hardcore level that MGS4 is on doesn't mean you can't enjoy it.

Most kids don't. Other wise MTV would be playing The Carpenters all day.

Geometry Wars does not make a mockery of Video Games. Soulja Boy makes a mockery of music.
