Some of you might remember when I originally posted this topic when Rambo V's ridiculous "oh, it's a creature and we need to kill it" plot was revealed.
Well...apparently Sylvester Stallone was listening to either me or someone else that had the same idea as me...as he has SCRAPPED the original "creature" story for another project
Instead, it sounds like he's heading into Mexico, as he states he's "crossing the border"...and he'll be rescuing some vanished womens.
Go back to that original topic real quick. What did I say? WHAT DID I FUCKING SAY?!
Thank you, Mr. Stallone, for giving me confidence once again in the Rambo franchise.
Now that the plot has changed to something more Rambo-like...what do you guys think?
Stallone Changing Direction for Rambo V
My only problem with the latest Rambo is that I don't think there was enough violence. Hopefully this one makes up for that.
LULWUT?!" My only problem with the latest Rambo is that I don't think there was enough violence. Hopefully this one makes up for that. "
The latest Rambo made Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan in comparison to an episode of My Little Pony.
" My only problem with the latest Rambo is that I don't think there was enough violence. Hopefully this one makes up for that. "What the hell are you talking about? The last Rambo had more violence than all the other Rambos before it! The Angry Video Game Nerd did a Top 10 on most violent war movies & the latest Rambo was in it. Hopefully the next Rambo will be just as gorey.
" @Vito_Raliffe said:While the gore was awesome in the last movie, I want this Rambo to be more explosive and less gritty, just like its predecessors. I was just expecting more after all the stuff I heard about it. All that time spent showing people talking could have been used to show more violence!
There should be an opening scene with about four minutes of dialogue, and then nothing but non-stop killing! And then two more minutes of talking at the end. Roll credits.
" @Lind_L_Taylor said:The old 80's version got dull. The first two Rambos were great, but I didn't even go to the movies for Rambo 3. To this day I've still never watched it from beginning to end." @Vito_Raliffe said:While the gore was awesome in the last movie, I want this Rambo to be more explosive and less gritty, just like its predecessors. Hmmm I prefer the idea of fighting and invisible smoke monster. The final nail in a long in the tooth franchise.
Now that sounds like a much better idea, dealing with the disappearance of women in Mexico. Like the violence in Burma. I think Taking rambo to deal with current real life atrocities is good, it would be almost a feel good movie because you get to see justice served on those bitches who hurt the innocent.
To all the folks who only care about the violence: Rambo is about far more than that...and it makes me question how many of you ever saw First Blood Part 1. The Rambo franchise has always been about John Rambo heading into areas where real-life conflict exists and dealing with issues of it. With Rambo IV, the movie was ultra-violent because Burma is ultra-violent. Don't get me wrong, though...the gore was goddamn AWESOME! However, the reason I loved this franchise is because it's not afraid of taking on that violence in its movies. In all honesty, we're supposed to be appalled by the violence, but we know that we're not. I'm hoping that he can change that with this movie, and ESPECIALLY if it takes place in the Juarez border portion of America, where there is a MASSIVE issue with violence right now because of the drug cartels. I would like to see him seriously tackling that situation, as there is a TON that can be done with that STORY...as well as supplying the violence we crave from it.
The thing that I'm curious about is if Stallone has stolen my idea!!! I mean, MAYBE some folks on his website mentioned the same type of story, but seriously...SERIOUSLY...what are the odds?!
Rambo IV wasn't bad, I'll probably see this one. Though it leads me to wonder what that creature film would look like....
I loved the new addition to the Rambo series and I think this one will be great, I'm glad he took out the whole creature thing but I'm sure he could have made it work, hes fucking Rambo.
" Rambo IV wasn't bad, I'll probably see this one. Though it leads me to wonder what that creature film would look like.... "Well, he's still going to be making that movie, but it won't be a Rambo movie. Instead, it's going to be more true to the book itself, and he'll be casting someone else for the lead in it.
This is the news we've all been hoping for. I've always had faith in Stallone as a director and so far, he hasn't proved me wrong but I thought the idea of Rambo vs. The Predator seemed a bit too far for even him to handle so i'm glad this is now back to basics.

I love the Rambo series, I have all of the movies, they are great though I thought the plots of Rambo 3 and Rambo IV were a tad to similar. Isn't Stallone getting a tad old for this job though?
I'd be much more interested in watching a Rambo movie that isn't going to jump the shark as hard as that stupid plot would have, but that doesn't mean I'm going to watch it. I've only watched Rambo movies as a youngster, which means I don't even remember which ones I've seen, and which ones I haven't. Yes, that means I haven't seen the latest movie (Rambo, Rambo 4, First Blood part 4, whatever you want to call it).
" @DarkGamerOO7 said:Exactly. Him and Clint Eastwood are two people who will be badasses for all time. Don't get me wrong, I had my doubts when I heard about Rocky Balboa and Rambo but after seeing them, it's clear that he can still bring it."Isn't Stallone getting a tad old for this job though? "No. .....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Fuck no. Stallone is the goddamn man! "

Rambo First Blood (sometimes referred to as First Blood Pt. 1)
Rambo First Blood Pt. 2
Rambo III
Rambo
Also, I would really like it if he took a moment away from the gore and violence and shit and made a movie that seriously took a look at the treatment of veterans in America. I remember after the release of Rambo, he had been talking about how the fifth movie would go back to the first one a bit more, without all the gore and shit and instead look at the treatment of veterans and be a bit more dramatic. Those are the things that I like the most about the Rambo flicks: the commentary that Stallone makes about all these situations.
Also, I actually do know the titles to all the Rambo movies, it's just funny to point out the absurdity in the naming scheme, especially with the last movie.
Glad to hear that, Rambo chasing after Mexican women sounds a lot more fun than fighting a boring monster that we have seen done countless times.
" My only problem with the latest Rambo is that I don't think there was enough violence. Hopefully this one makes up for that. "Yes, violence makes everything better!
" @Tru3_Blu3: no, fuck that, Live Free or Die Hard was a watered down piece of shit former self of what the older greater ones were. They did that for money and Rambo didnt and I love the franchise for upping the ante in violence instead of being a bunch of pussies like they did for live free or die hard. "Unrated DVD edition of Live Free or Die Hard was awesome, though.
This last rambo was like the film equivalent of a huge shot of pure steroids in the ass.
that whole movie was a non stop jolt of manhood and testostrone.
cannot wait to see the sequel.
in the mean time, The Expendables will do!
" Cop Land anybody? "Great movie as well!
@TwoOneFive: YES, THE EXPENDABLES! Have you seen the leaked trailer yet? Bad acting aside, that movie is gonna be everything I could hope for!!!
" @Vito_Raliffe said:You mispelt "James Rolfe" and "Top 10 Shoot-Em-Ups. He wasn't his AVGN character and last time I checked, Scarface wasn't a war movie." Pretty sure it's going to be called Rambo V, but he hasn't given out an official title yet, so it's anyone's guess. I'm hoping for Rambo V: Border Patrol - Vengeance on the Drug Cartels Part 1 in Three Acts!" So what is it gonna be called? Rambo 2? Rambo 5? Rambo: Something? The Rambo titles are so fucked up. "
" @Twilight said:That would be kinda weird to call it Rambo V. Cause the previous movie was just called Rambo. Rambo: "Something", sounds best in my opinion. " I'm from Mexico and let me tell you.... FUCK YEAH!!! Can't wait for Rambo to kick some narco ASS! The news exagerate a lot of the stuff that goes down here. Yeah people get killed all the time but it's people who are NOT innocent (most of the time). "Are we talking about the same Juarez drug cartel situation here, or are you talking about general Mexico drug cartels? I'm specifically pointing out the Juarez border situation. THAT shit is insane. The media sensationalizes only a small portion of that, and for the most part, the rest of the coverage is pretty on-key with the actual situation.
