Star Wars on Blu-Ray
Yay!
Lets pay again for stuff we've already seen but now we can see it again in blu ray quality!
Wait what? No.
Wont be buying it, George has milked the fuck out of the franchise releasing prequels that didn't need to be, those prequels were inferior, those prequels added in story elements that weren't even talked about, or hinted at in the original trilogy.
changing the original trilogy for stupid money grubbing reasons.
fuck george lucas, I have my original remakes on dvd, the ones where they didn't put retard hayden as the ghost in the end.
I never actually owned the original trilogy. So, if the Blu-Rays are released are the original films with no modifications, I will consider purchasing them.
I just hope that we don't end up with another disappointing Lord of the Rings style Blu Ray where the picture quality varied hugely and it wasn't the actual versions that I wanted to see!
I really hope it's the original versions (it won't be), and I really wish they wouldn't scrub it to death. Film grain is not the same as noise! Why are film companies scrubbing that away from all these old "remastered" films? It makes it look so damn weird.
I have the DVDs that came out before the prequels appeared, so that's good enough for me for now. But, like it's been said, if the Blu-Ray includes all variations of each movie, then I'll consider it. Oh, and I am only interested in the good movies. Screw that Anakin crap.
" If the Blu-rays have the original unedited versions of the first movies then I'll totally buy them. Otherwise no. "They won't the DVDs had the laziest transfer ever. The movies weren't even real widescreen they were 4:3 letterboxed. I don't think the originals will come to Blu-Ray.
" @wasteguru said:Considering the amount of data a BD50 disc can hold these should come out in sets with all versions of the movies so everyone can watch whatever they want, any way they want.This... the original versions with cleaned up visuals and sound i'll buy, but none of the crappy special edition shit with the WORST Jabba the Hutt, and Greedo shooting first nonsense! "" If the Blu-rays have the original unedited versions of the first movies then I'll totally buy them. Otherwise no. "
" @TaliciaDragonsong said:I believe it was broadcast in HD on TV, and it looked great so it should at least look that good." again in blu ray quality!"Nobody really knows what footage is available in what state in terms of negatives. So I wouldn't hold my breath about amazing BluRay picture quality just yet. "
New footage for RoTJ.
Albiet a scene that didn't need to exist.
Personally, I think him suddenly pulling out a new lightsaber in the middle of a fight was very cool, especially as we'd never seen a green one before. Having him actually constructing and seeing it before hand kind of lessons the affect. But it's cool as a bonus, I guess.
They better have the original trilogy in original and remastered versions. if they only have the remasters, ill be pissed.
