So steam updated and logged me out, I typed in my account info, no go. Went through the password reset process only to find out my steam account, with like 100 games on it, is linked to a different email that is not my own. I have absolutely no idea how to go about this since steam has zero way of communicating with its customers now.

The email it wants to send a verification code to is just S********@g****.c**

I would have made this topic on the Steam forums but they want new accounts to spend $5.00 before they can post. Fuck that noise.

Help in anyway would be met with gracious adoration.

EDIT: I'm in now! I see the email of whoever tried to jack my shit, Slavinutz@gmail.com. Fuck this guy, thanks for your replies people.

It's not much help, but you're going to want to cancel any cards you have tied to your Steam account ASAP.

@sinusoidal: Luckily I just got a new debit card with a different card security code so I believe I'm good there.

It had been a while since I tried to get into steam and nothing has been charged to my card. Right now I'm just wondering how to get back into my account.

@sinusoidal: Been there, I go to make a support ticket and it tells me to log in to the account I don't have access to anymore lol kill me

Edit: I clicked forgot password after typing my name in to the recovery page and it brought me to the proof of purchase page. Changed my password successfully but not it wants me to input a verification code which it sends, of course, to the random email.

@muffs92: I think you'll have to actually register another account to submit a ticket. I don't think there's any other method of contacting Steam support.

I highly recommend using two-factor authentication in the future to help avoid this sort of situation. You should also consider a password manager if you're not already using one so that you'll have a unique password on every website.

@chaser324: I made a new account but it doesn't seem to let me do anything without spending 5 bucks...

And I'll be activating steam guard on my phone asap
