Hey there fellow Bombers,

I have a Macbook Pro early 2011, and I want to learn how to stream live videos from it. I would also like to know how to capture video's from my xbox 360 etc. I've seen some video capture device that ran on composite cables, but I really prefer something that uses HDMI.

I would really appreciate all feedback. Sorry in advance if this is a re-post, I did search for this topic.

The main obstacle you face is HDCP(High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) a feature of HDMI technology, unfortunately this technology requires a license to implement into your device and taken from the wiki page.

the device cannot be designed to copy; it must "frustrate attempts to defeat the content protection requirements"; it must not transmit high definition protected video to non-HDCP receivers; and DVD-Audio material can be played only atCD-audio quality by non-HDCP digital audio outputs (analog audio outputs have no quality limits). HDCP does not allow copying permitted by fair use laws

Thus its easier to record from composite, the one i could find that had HDMI input was blackmagic intensity extrem and while users are complaining about the fact that it cant do ps3 over HDMI there are no such listed complaints about 360.
