I've been itching to listen to Blind Guardian lately, i haven't listened to proper power metal in a while. And after listening to "Valhalla" i went on youtube to listen to a live version

and i remembered this video when i found it:

The greatness begins at 4:25 literally to the end.. I've never seen anything like it!
It goes REAL hardcore at 5:00

(Lyrics: Valhalla, deliverance, why've you ever forgotten me?)

What's your favorite recorded live crowd from a concert? something unusual.

This one comes to mind.

Edit: oops I forgot this was about crowds, so I have changed the video accordingly.

I don't really like most live albums, but some of the Isis live albums are ok.  So is that one live album by Death, because death could do no wrong.

  And of course this.

EDIT:  Oops, I misread this thread as being about any live concerts, forgot the part about crowds.  Whatever.

My internet is shit, so swerve a link, but there's a video of a live performance of Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls in pouring rain and the crowd join in for the final chorus and it's so good. Would have killed to have been there.

I once saw Killswitch Engage and the crowd was louder than them and it was the worst thing in the world. So I don't really enjoy the idea of being able to hear a crowd.

Arctic Monkeys concerts tend to be singalongish.

@Bucketdeth: South American countries seem to get some pretty insane crowds at metal concerts.

Yeah it seems like it, they chant "Megadeth" throughout almost every song.

The quiet crowds that don't ruin the concert are the best kind.

Nearly all of the times that Andy C played out at The End.

Crowds going off without an MC are even more hype.

I've been to my share of concerts, but Iron Maiden's crowd has beaten anything so far, including Metallica's.

Anything with Rage Against the Machine. No matter WHERE they go, they have the most intense crowds I have ever seen.   Go to 0:42 for when everything goes apeshit.

You should be in a crowd when a real dubstep DJ plays:
EDIT: That wasn't meant to be any reference to Andy C, I just re-read it and I meant DJ's that aren't Skrillex/Borgore/Doctor P and the rest of the crap......   sorry

Greatest crowd I ever was in at a concert, was at an early Black Eyed Peas pre-Fergie concert. Must have been a year or two before they took-off.

The hall was packed. The crowd went insane. It was a living sea of shaking bodies. My feet lost touch with the ground for minutes at a time, just suspended in a jump by the sheer mass of the crowd. The BEP crowd-dived from the balacony, which was about 2 meters above our heads. It's was cheerful madness.

That night the crowd was fame and glory personified. Unbeatable. Another crowd can only match but never outdo that night's crowd, sound and otherwise. EVER.

I saw Blind Guardian in 2009, I was in the front line, I yelled at Hansi that I want to have his children, so ye, so far nothing has topped Blind Guardian for me in terms of getting the crowd pumped.

Since we’re bumped, a lively crowd is a good crowd.

Appreciate a band being able to send a crowd into a frenzy of sweat, blood, tears, screams, and flailing limbs.

Nothing bums me out like going to a show and finding a dead crowd. It’s the worst. Dead crowds and seated venues...the worst of both worlds.

I haven't found it again after watching it online some time ago but the metalband Kvelertak once decided to finish their show out on the streets outside of the venue they were playing. The drummer stayed put and the 5 others went outside with the audience. It was awesome.

I remember always liking this particular performance and crowd:

I like it when the crowd's let loose and just belting out the lyrics alongside the performers. Depends on the song and artist of course.

I’ve noted I like a wild crowd. I’ve been injured, made a bloody mess, lost clothes, been dehydrated delirious, and all sorts of crap over the past quarter century of club-going.

This video from 3:30. It won’t take long for my spirit animal to make his presence known. Dangerous? Maybe. Stupid? Probably. Amazing? Definitely:
