I wouldn't go as far to say the Illuminati, but I think there are definitely some people behind the scenes that influence a lot of what it going on in the world. Some things are just too convenient to be a coincidence.
I thinks it is real but rather than a concious group ploting world domination etc . its just random circumstances that has taken humanity this path because it makes sense in economical terms (less variety easier to produce/ sell to a wider audience , people in power making it so so they can reap the benefits etc.) So no illuminati perse , but the actions taken by man kind makes it look that it is on purpose.
Now i want to make clear of something, do you think that the illuminati are not real or that the idea that the fiscally elite are not making friends and are doing things that would directly hurt the people in search of money, and this "network" includes the governing bodies whom have been corrupted. Because if you think the latter is ridiculous then i think you have been "indoctrinated" pretty well. For a good example of this happening in real life, why not look at whats happening with internet in Canada specifically the CRTC and major companies like Rogers and Bell. There was some thing that bell wanted passed, and a high level person in the company passed it, they then quit 2 weeks later for a new cushy job at Bell. The Crtc's main goal is to protect the comsumer. If anyone is interested i can go look for the story, i hope i can still find it.
Remember reading the Illuminati book series by Robert Anton Wilson & Robert Shea with some amusingly fond memories of it. Well worth it if you have the time. Fnord!
