You really can't assume much from where the birth certificate was in the book. They were probably using it because they wanted to remind themselves what they were getting on the wagon for.

Maybe you were conceived during some drunken lust and they put the certificate in there to remind themselves of what can happen when you fuck drunk. It's not too bad, having a birthday exactly nine months after my dads leads me to believe I am the result of what happens when your mum forgets to buy your dad a birthday present.
