Alright, I'll be perfectly honest and say that I was arrested not that long ago. It was a bullcrap arrest and a case of mistaken identity, but I had to stay in jail overnight and was released the next day without any charges or being required to go to court. But later in the mail I get a letter from a local website (I have redacted these for privacy reasons of course).
Front of Envelope:

Back of the letter:

So basically, for $200.00 this business says it will keep others from using their notification services against me.
Here are the services they offer for sale to anyone who wants to mess with you:
1) They canvass your neighborhood putting flyers about you at every residence.
2) For certain crimes they will publicly put you up on billboards.
3) They will monitor arrest records for landlords and employers.
But you can get out of all that by simply sending them $200.00
This is a really f***ed up business and seems to me nothing other than extortion. i don't know which side of the thin gray line of legality they are on, but I'm going to have to get a lawyer involved.
Goddamn sleezebags everywhere in this world.
